Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We got the last room in a city with very little hotels and even less restaurants. We arrived with motorcycles and they had a parking spot in the boiler room, very safe. The place has the charm of a 80's eastern block hotel but very nice, very clean and they welcomed us with open arms

I was on a business trip in town of Lucenec and decided to stay in the Pelikan Hotel. Like many similar places in post-soviet part of Europe this is not Versailles but it does the job for a basic accommodation. What make my review 5* is staff, especially lovely lady at the reception, Ildiko. She couldn't do enough for us, always smiling, with a great attitude and fantastic customer service skills. Hope she gets recognition she deserves as she personally makes guests experience better. Well done Ildiko!

This is a pretty awful deal overall. We were given a room where the temperature was around 45 degrees centigrade. Requested one in a temperate climate. After some trepidation, ugly face making and keys shuffling, we received a room on the other, non-overheated side of the building.

Speaking of which, this is pre-fab concrete housing marvel, direct out of 1974 (my guess) a true miracle of Czechoslovak housing industry.

The second room was tolerable, although stank from the unbearable detergent "scent" they used in washing the sheets. Well, at least the sheets had been washed.

Asked for a double bed, were given two single ones, but that was easy enough to fix.

Overall, considering how boring and depressing the town is for non-locals, it wasn't a bad deal. After all, we managed to run away the next morning.
