We were 2 families of 4 travelling for a week of skiing. The hotel is only a 2 min walk for the ski bus stop (would recommend the stop near the shop). We had a self catering apartment with 2 bedrooms and a shared bathroom, but we had breakfast and evening meals in the hotel. Rooms were clean and adequate and staff were helpful. Considering we had children, that I would class as fussy eaters, they found something to eat every night except one. There was always chips, pasta or rice with meat but very traditional Slovakian food. The night they didn't like anything we phoned for a pizza and it arrived promptly, was huge and less than 5 euros! Alcohol was cheap in the hotel but even cheaper from the coop (worth the walk to it). My husband had a massage and said it was one of the best he's ever had. A great hotel and would stay again if visiting the same area and not staying on the slopes.…
Its located near the main road to several attractions and not far from a mall and center of Liptovsky Mikulas and shopping area. The place is pleasant The downside was the small rooms, the bed linen was not changed during 3 days neither they were arranged. The place is nice for families with children, because of the game room, the courtyard and the mini zoo. There is a pleasant spa, including a small pool that combines a Jacuzzi (not warm water) The staff: Some were nice and friendly, some were very helpful but others try less. Breakfast: The breakfast was good, The food choices were somewhat limited. Parking: there is a parking lot in the yard or in the back nearby.
We were staying in February 2018. They say they speak all languages but in fact they speak only Slovakian, after making reservation when I wanted to change room type it took me nearly write them 10 letter and several phone calls before they understood what I want from them. Double room is very tiny , shower extremely small. Food for breakfast eggs and sausages for dinner fatty pork and chicken but I guess it is the same in all Slovakia. They have really nice children playing room just next to the restaurant and pool zone is adapted for kids as well but unfortunately with lots of chlorine, my baby got allergy after 1 time going there. Service was poor because most of the week owners are working at the kitchen, bar and reception and they are not super polite, talk to you only in Slovakian. It was much better when they had a day off and other girls had worked, they were speaking English and very polite. Nothing interesting around the hotel, they do not have even pavement to walk , you have to walk on the road. In fact we have left 1 day earlier.…
We stayed in the beautiful penzion with children for one week in August. From the warm welcome we felt comfortable. We stayed in th Chopok apartment which is big, well equipped and cosy. The yard with the animals enchanted the children and so did the pool. The stuff was very nice and willing to help. Breakfast is very nice, The laocation is !great- a quiet sorrounding but very close to the city center, I will surely come back
Great for the family and a number of leisure activities. Great hotel but the rooms are a bit small. The food is nice and traditional. The WiFi is free but also fast. We'd definitely come here again. Great hotel!
The place in nice and clean. Many things to do for kids like mini zoo play room and small pool. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Room are not cleaned every day and towels are not replaced adequately The breakfast is not varied and poor. There are some different rooms in the penzion, I recommend the outside rooms not in the main building.
We stayed at the Penzion Maria as a group of fathers with kids, (9+13) and enjoyed all of our stay. The rooms were spacious, well equipped, good was excellent including a Saturday BBQ party. Wellness with heated pool and the closed outside garden were just perfect for our kids. Staff very friendly, the owners are hands on and involved in daily operation. I can only recommend and we are coming back for sure.
It was all a misunderstanding. We were 3 friends - single adults, intending to book an apartment with 3 separated beds. I also stated this in the email with my request. They offered me a one-bedroom apartment (dependance) for three adults but never mentioned the number of beds. Besides, they attached pictures showing a bedroom with sofa+large bed and living room with sofa. This really deceived me and I made the booking. Now it’s very clear that the pictures were from another apartment that was booked at that time period, so it was not available for us. My friends who arrived first at the location were shocked to see that there are two beds only. When I arrived, I went to the reception to tell them about the issue, but all they could offer was a single extra-bed (folded bed). It was really tiny and its mattress impossible to sleep on. So I took one mattress from the large double bed (lucky us there was two separated mattresses on the large bed). It was really uncomfortable to fold and unfold that single bed, or move it in the living room to get some more space for siting at the table and eating for example. I have no objection regarding the rest of the things, the pension is clean, the dinners worth the money (7 EUR/pers), the apartment is well equipped with hotplate, microwave oven, vessels, refrigerator, etc. We didn’t use the pool. You definitely need a car to visit around: 11 km to the slopes, 5 km to Liptovsky Mikulas, 9 km to Tatralandia. Or you can use a taxi cab, it’s about 6 EUR to Liptovsky Mikulas or 10 EUR to Tatralandia. But we were with our cars so it was not a problem for us.…
Our room was spacious and well appointed, we had a large suite to accommodate two families, sharing amenities. The meals served at both breakfast and dinner were plentiful and tasty. Especially considering the buffet nature of the meals. The penzion is well located for the skibus, or if you have a car it is a 15 minute drive to the ski fields. All of the staff were friendly and spoke fluent English.
I stayed there for 2 nights and the place was great. It's really cozy and the owners are very friendly...they even have a small dog there. It felt just like home. If i return to Liptovsky Mikulas, I'm going to stay there again.
