Arrived late after long train journey and made welcome. Hotel is right near the centre of town but down a pedestrianised road so no traffic noise at all.Very well appointed (the electric points hidden in a push down pop up tower thing could have a electric bolt sign on to make in more obvious what it was) though not huge.
Staff very helpful. Great buffet breakfast.

After very bad experience in the other unnamed hotel we had originaly chosen and booked for our two nights stay in Kosice, that was a totaly nice surprise for us. The guy on the reception was very welcoming and helpful. (Actually, we met four desk people during our stay and all of them were very kind and smiling.)

The room was not huge but clean. The bathroom was spotless and very tastfully furnished.
What I do not like was the double bed with the separate matrasses what made a gap in the middle - a bit annoying.

The choice for cold breakfast was poor and boring but there is a possibility to order warm breakfast, too. And that is worth it. The omelete and fried eggs were fantastic and scrambled eggs were the best I have ever eaten - realy yummi!

The stay in the hotel was very pleasant and I recommend it.

Just got back from a two night weekend stay at the Chrysso, and was very happy with everything. All of the reception staff we met were warm and friendly, and the reception area was classy and inviting, with big leather sofas and a Christmas tree in the corner.

The man who checked us in on reception even came up to the room with us to ensure all of the radiators were switched on and working, we had not booked, so they were not expecting occupancy in that room over the weekend. This was very much appreciated, and shows that they care about their guests!

The room itself was small, it was built into the slope of the roof, but cannot really complain about that because we had not booked beforehand. They did make the most of the limited space though, and the bed was big and comfortable. The bathroom is especially worth a mention, again it was very small, but perfectly formed - the decoration was really classy, something I would definitely choose for my own apartment ;-) it had the feel of a real upmarket hotel rather than a Penzion and cleanliness was absolutely 100% spot on. Even the toiletries had the appearance that you were in a much more expensive hotel, and they even included a toothbrush set, shaving set and vanity set, rarely seen even in some top hotels. These little touches do make the difference sometimes.

Breakfast was served downstairs in another classy looking room, with big leather chairs and nicely decorated tables. There was only a small selection of buffet style breakfast available, but they will cook for you on request (all included in the price), and everything we ate down there was excellent. The breakfast service maybe could have been a bit friendlier, but it was certainly not rude, and we were served quickly and politely.

One small downside of the Chrysso was having to vacate the room at 10am rather than 12am, although I do realise it takes time to clean rooms to such a high standard and change beds, etc...but those extra couple of hours would have been welcomed, especially on a sunday morning :-)

Overall, we were delighted to have stayed at the Chrysso, and I would recommend it for sure.

We booked two rooms 5 months ahead of our trip. When we got there they told us one room was not available and the tried to call on the same day to let us know (we did not get any missed calls). It was quite clear they double booked by their bad excuses.

Then it became worse: they offered a replacement hotel, we went there and it was nothing similar. But they still wanted us to pay the same!? This replacement hotel had prostitutes walking on the street in front of it. It was a disgrace for hotel chrysso to solve it in such a poor way. Of course we left and choose our own hotel.

I don´t know how the bed&breakfast is, but for sure do not take your friends or relatives here for late lunch.

Although the setting might be nice, staff is smoking in front of the building although the tables are not cleaned. We were waiting quiet a bit for the waitress (probably she wanted to finish the cigarette). No smile, no suggestions for food, she didn´t even ask if we want something to drink. The table next to us had empty glasses, she didn´t bother.

Btw. There were just two tables, and it took them 40 mins to bring out the food. Waiting for the bill took 20 mins. She was probably hiding.

The food is nothing extra, for sure not worth the price, not menitoning the service. I don´t recommend it at all.

I had booked for two nights. It's a very strange place, which looks like a brothel actually, with some perfume in the air (and something that looks like Chanel's logo everywhere).
I had booked a single room and when I arrived (late, past 10 pm, after a long journey) I had a shower immediately. Then I started considering the room: gloomy! the light was like in an hospital, no bedside light, one switch at the other side of the room, no plugs, and a mess of electric wires under the desk that looked quite dangerous. I asked for another room and was shown the other single rooms which were a little better, but I was really feeling uncomfortable and I decided to leave. I couldn't spend the night there.
They charged me one night, It's my most expensive shower ever.
In any case, I cannot understand the good reviews.

We thoroughly enjoyed a 2 night stay at Hotel Chrysso. Kosice is lovely and lively. It deserves to be on any traveler's Slovakia itinerary. Staying at Hotel Chrysso puts you in the heart of the historic district. The building is historic and has been very stylishly restored. It's a cool place. Our suite was very large, tastefully decorated and clean. The daily buffet in the elegant breakfast room here is a real bonus. I do have a couple of caveats to add. Since there is no lift, accessibility is an issue. We had a bit of a struggle just lugging our bags upstairs. Also, parking in the historic district is a bit of a challenge that left us temporarily flustered. Overall, though, we would highly recommend the very chic Hotel Chrysso.

Nice boutique hotel down a pedestrian street which is great for there not being any noisy traffic but not so great if you have large bags. We did enjoy our stay at the hotel and even extended our stay by 1 extra day.
The reception staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, I only have 2 slightly negative comments, in my opinion the rates were quite pricey (around EUR 100) for a quite small room and thin walls so you really can hear everything happening in the next room and considering the expensive rates the breakfast should have been much better, for the 3 days that I was there the hot food tray wasn't working so everything was stone cold so not too nice first thing in the morning.
But, after saying all that I would definitely give them another chance if I ever return to Kosice.
