The hotel is in very good location with free parking. The staff was very helpful and kind. The rooms are well equipped and clean. I also enjoyed the breakfast which was wide range and fresh. I recommend for family and business travel, too.
I stayed in this hotel for four days with my family (the room sleeps 5. It was great. The apartment was spacious and decorated nicely. We were able to have other family members up to gather in the living room area. Only down side is the refrigerator is very small. The location is nice because it is next to a grocery store and only a few blocks from Kosice center. The staff was also very helpful and the hotel was very clean. I would recommend.
I wouldn't call this a four star hotel, but in fairness it had clean spacious bathroom and good size room too.Bit old fashioned furniture, don't mean vintage style, but it looked old.We spent wedding there and our room was very quite, couldn't hear anything.Make sure you lock the door , cause I forgot , as there is no swipe card keys. Two guys shifted at the reception, one on early shift wasn't really a honey bunny, but later one , smiled and greet us everytime. /don't know the name, longer hair, young, little bearded/. Breakfast went well too, apart from broken coffee machine, bigger choice than modern 3 star in centre of Barcelona and appreciate a fresh homemade yogurt. Very good location, only about 10 min walking distance to centre.
This hotel is called Boutique (!!) Hotel Maraton (14 rooms only), but it is a nightmare. On our second night in the hotel, there was a party in the bar/restaurant. We (my wife and our two small kids) were staying on the first floor, right above the restaurant. There was a loud music and a lot of noise. T&C of the hotel allow no loud noise between 22:00 - 06:00. Gods may do what cattle may not. First we visited the reception around 23:30 (unoccupied). Then we called them and explained we felt very disturbed, we had kids sleeping there and we would like them to lower the noise. The staff was extremely arrogant, would act only if instructed by the managing director (Mr. Andrej Cechuty) who was not present. He refused to answer my calls, instead of that replied to my messages with some stupid excuses which were full of lies. We went down multiple times and we have always been told some story which they knew we would not believe anyway, something like "we will close all doors now, it will be OK". Around 02:00 in the morning I called the police. Even after the police arrived at 02:15, they tried to keep the party going on, the staff on site only stopped after the managing director called them and instructed them to do so. BIG THANK YOU to the two guys from the City Police. One of them called the managing director and explained clearly the possible consequences upon to which the managing director called the staff to stop the music. Time: 02:30am. 3 hours wasted. To be fair, the receptionist (of course, after the managing director allowed him to) offered us a room on a higher floor. I told him I appreciated it, but as our kids were sleeping, we couldn't moved out. The next morning there was another arrogant guy at the reception (the one that never greets). As I returned the key from the room he started saying something about the incident and that they want to apologize (probably again instructed by the almighty managing director). You know, it is always the way you say it. Between the lines it was something like, "there was this incident last night, you two idiots ruined the party but OK, we decided to say sorry. Of course we don't mean we are sorry, we just think you might want to hear it". I am sorry for that but I exploded and told him that after they treated us like idiots, his apology can't be sincere and at this point he can kiss my a**. I consider the money burned, we would never return to this hotel again, but we are escalating this with the local police. ------ The other cons (I am biased, look for pros somewhere else): Parking lot - always fully occupied by the guests of the restaurant. Be prepared to park on the street (for a fee). Reception: most of the team would not greet you (nor much older guests). Restaurant: Not the best value for money. The waiter put a carafe of tap water with lemon on the table and then charged us 1.50 EUR for that. We have a strong preference for some sort of tap water (especially for our kids) and we would have ordered it even for a double of that price, but it should be our decision, no hidden fees. The room: the sealant around the shower tray should be replaced (brrrrr). The extra bed we asked for was a horrible folding bed. There were two bars of the metal frame right in the middle, I literally felt them under my back and there was no way how to position yourself on the bed. And they charged extra 20EUR/night for it. ----- Mr. Cechuty, if you put the word BOUTIQUE in the name of the hotel, you have to deliver. Perhaps you didn't notice, but there is a huge difference between being arrogant and self confident! Apart of the incident, there was not enough bang for the buck. I clearly DO NOT recommend this hotel.…
Had reservations at hotel from 5/29-2/6 for two couples. When we arrived and checked in we discovered that rooms had no air conditioning even though on website it is advertised as rooms with AC. When we complained they suggested we use a fan!! This was a joke since it was 29C outside. We cancelled the reservation and went to another hotel. At least the staff, who felt embarrassed, found another hotel. But pls be aware what they advertise is not really the truth - stay away from them.
We were here with our friends. Hotel maraton is so close to city centrum. People that working here so kind. Breakfast is so fresh and nice. The room of the hotel is clean and comfortable. There is no parking fee. The wifii is realy fast.
We have been twice in this hotel. We had family apartment and this apartment is really nice and big. Everything is clean and there is really nothing to complain. As we are traveling as family very often for one night stays regarding Kosice I am sure we will be staying in this hotel. Although breakfast is from 8am, we asked receptionist and he arranged to serve breakfast earlier at 7:30 am. This hotel is great value for money.
For my two days stay in Kosice I choose the Maraton hotel based on previous guest's reviews and the information given were pleasantly confirmed. I got a standard room on ground floor facing the front of the hotel which was comfortable, nicely arranged and with a spacious bathroom. As previously reported the morning breakfast was nicely arranged and with plenty of choices. In general the hotel seems well maintained and cared for, welcoming and practical. Personnel at reception was kind and helpful. I had a pleasant stay and will return in the future.
We spent three night there. The porter mentioned at the checkin that there were two weiiding till 11, also said it could last longer. They did. We came to Kosice for the marathon so it was not ideal listening to to bass before the race. Anyway it think a hotel should decide what is important for itself. As I read in previous reviews it was not a unique occasion. The room itself was huge but there was not much natural light. The beds were too soft for me. Anyway, there is is a HUGE construction just by the hotel and even during sunfay they worked (not very loud, but uncomfortable). I never understand how it is possible that a hotel serves breakfast from only 8... and some of the foods were cold, the bakery as if feom the fridge. The hotel is close to the city center and the staff eas friendly. The wifi was ok. The hotel was not expensive but very dissappointing.…
We were welcomed by a friendly and knowledgeable receptionist who organised a taxi and packed breakfast for our very early departure. The room was good size. Shame we only stayed for one night. Would highly recommend and hoping to return there myself.
