Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

I stayed here with my mom and the rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of restaurants and shopping directly in the city center. The breakfast in the morning is very nice and has a little bit of everything. One big thing that should be noted: if you’re an older or disabled traveler there are only baths in this hotel. The bath tubs are very high with no bars to help someone with mobility issues. It’s one of those things you just have to know when booking and perhaps don’t book if that won’t suit you. It’s not something I’d take stars away for because the staff did everything they could to accommodate and always gave us a lot of extra towels to help with water that got out of the tub.

Beautiful, large room, comfortable bed, BUT… Unworkable shower, no matter what you did with the showerhead. If any water hit the wall, it would run immediately onto the floor. My husband flooded the whole floor before he even got in the shower, lesson learned I only had to use five towels to mop up. Worst breakfast in Slovakia out of five hotels; only eggs were rubbery egg bites, wouldn’t make three minute eggs, or any fresh eggs at all even though they have a stellar kitchen, no fruit salad either. Only one staff member, so whenever there was a problem or request, she left the desk, and even if you phoned as the sign told you to, you got no reply. A true disappointment.

We got to the hotel and left the car in the free hotel parking. The hotel is very central so you can go for a walk right away. We had a minor issue with the room, and when we told the lady at the reception, she took care of it, and when we returned to the hotel after an hour or so, we were upgaupgradeda huge room. The hotel is clean with very spacious room and good breakfast.

Fantastic hotel, perfect location. The staff were wonderful and the rooms were amazing. No expense spared, very art deco , great breakfast. Why this hotel is only 3 star is baffling, as good or better than most 4 star hotels I have stayed in. Grab yourself a great deal, you wont be dissapointed.

I found the hotel accidentally. Surprisingly it was not well listed by the booking sites. The first positive impression was the art deco design, the second was the friendliness of the staff. I had a surprisingly good lunch, then I realized, that there is hotel above the restaurant. I changed my original plan and made a booking in the hotel. It was a good idea.

I considered staying but I was warned by my brother who stayed at this hotel. Check in is at 2 pm But my brother informed them that he Was arriving early at 11 am. They informed him that there wasn’t a problem but then they charged him €20 for every hour before 2 pm (€60) When he checked out at 6 am , he requested that that they wave the €60 given he was checking out early but they refused and answered him that he should have informed them he was checking out early when he booked. I ate at their restaurant terrace and went to the Receptionist asking for a recommendation for A Nail bar. She was rude and just answered “ I don’t know” shrugging her shoulders in annoyance even though she had perfectly nail salon manicured nail extensions. I asked if she can then recommend a hair salon and got same reaction.

Plan was to come to this fabulous city for 2 days and spend in the hard of it for memories ... to enjoy the super restaurant of the hotel , the atmosphere, for us the nicest cathedral... So the life changed it for 1 night, dogybags for breakfast, closed restaurants, almost empty city. Will come back after Covid time for sure! Recommend to all of you

This is an excellent place to stay. We had a fabulous room - very plush and comfortable with high quality furnishings, fluffy towels and luxurious soft furnishings. It's all very stylishly designed but in an historic building. We are a mother and daughter - the bed was extra large and they made it up so it was like a twin. Staff were helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was great - buffet style with plenty of options. The location on the pedestrian mall was perfect. Don't miss the singing fountain which is just outside the door. I highly recommend this fabulous hotel.

My wife and I celebrated our wedding at Slavia's Restaurant and got to stay in the hotel for the weekend. After seeing the rooms we decided to book the entire hotel for our guests with kids and coming from Spain (I'm from Barcelona living in Košice). We have worked for luxury hotels around Europe and were extremely impressed with this place in my wife's hometown. It is subtle luxury. All the guests that stayed with us at Slavia were really pleased with the rooms and service from all the staff. Our room, was the suite and it is totally worth it. The decoration is really tasteful, the mattress and pillows extremely comfortable and our balcony was directly over the main street. And the quality-price is great! I think I will plan our first year anniversary with dinner and a night stay at the Hotel again.

The hotel looks really nice, nice interior/ furniture of room, clean room / hotel, seems newly renovated. Our rooms were on the top floor, super hot from the sun, the windows are at the ceiling of the room only (so the room felt a bit like a bunker). I don’t like air conditioning so I prefer to sleep with open window, but the windows were very hard to be opened. In the morning we had no warm water. The breakfast was very minimalistic. The staff is very friendly though. My feelings about this hotel are mixed, it’s not super bad but I would probably not come back.
