The room was also grand, with classy furnishings, being both comfortable and stylish. I had everything I needed, wifi was good, bed was comfortable, and the shower was sufficiently large. Breakfast was also tasty in the morning, with a good number of hot and cold selections.
The hotel location is right in the old town, just a few minutes walk to anywhere, including pubs, restaurants, shops and more.
A great hotel and a wonderful stay. I'd definitely stay here again.
From our own experience there is absolutely nothing to fault with the Arcadia. The main interior design reminded us of a Moroccan Riad with views from all three floors over the central ground floor lobby area. The bedrooms (at least ours) were large, extremely comfortable, exceptionally clean and decorated/furnished to a very high standard with quite possibly one of the best bathrooms we’ve ever experienced. Breakfast is buffet-style set out in a charming dining area with plentiful supplies of both hot and cold to choose from. Excellent. Most of all, the management and every single member of staff were polite, helpful and exceptionally professional. Could not be faulted in any way. Our thanks to you all.
We received a coupon for a free glass of wine in the library when we arrived and we took advantage of it before dinner. The breakfasts were tasty and enough to stave us over to dinner (and the breakfast room is in the ancient cellars).
Not to mention the price! This hotel would easily be twice the price in Vienna or Budapest. The Arcadia was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
What a fantastic hotel, Martin on reception was very welcoming, Pavlor really helpful and informative, he went out of his way to provide us with information regarding our day trip to Vienna, we were very appreciative and thought this very kind and the ladies at Breakfast were very friendly and worked hard to keep everything replenished.
The hotel offers everything, the location is fantastic the feel and atmosphere of the actual building just perfect.
Such a beautiful breakfast far exceeded our expectations, so much effort and detail, if we had one VERY tiny criticism it would be the food in the silver platters could be warmer, particularly the baked beans, but everything provided and on offer was exceptional.
We stayed in room 9 which was absolutely perfect very big bathroom with shower and a separate bath, kettle, hair dryer and FREE safety deposit box which was fantastic. Bed very big and very comfortable.
The location of the hotel was incredible, 2 mins walk from Tram Number 1 which we caught from the train station on our arrival, just around the corner from the main square and so close to everything, lovely bars, cafes & restaurants we couldn’t ask for more.
We would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay again one day!
We had booked a 'Delux double room' which was beautiful, at the front of the building which looked at the church opposite.
The room was well equipped, the bed was very comfortable, plenty of pillows, the bathroom was of a good size with plenty of towels and toiletries. The only thing I'd say is the air-conditioning didn't seem to work, it didn't turn off, up or down, but as we had a big window we could open this was OK.
The breakfast was included in the price with plenty of options each day and the waitresses, waiters were very friendly and polite, as were the reception staff and the concierge.
We did use the spa which cost 49€ for 1.5 hours, it is very relaxing with sauna, cold pool etc, however the steamroom wasn't working.
We also used a airport car booked via the hotel from Vienna Airport, this cost 79€ and takes around 40mins. There is a bus from the airport which is much cheaper but when it's +33° outside an air-conditioned vehicle is much more appealing.
The location is amazing, you are right in the old Square as soon as you step out of the door with over 30 places to eat within a 10min walk.
Overall this is one of the best hotels I've stayed in and would reccomend it for it's facilities, location and staff friendliness.
Due to Covid (April 2022), the hotel does not provide a daily room cleaning service. So asking for toilet paper, replacement toiletries, refills of tea/coffee/milk does rather detract from the pamper effect of staying in a lovely boutique hotel.
The room was a very spacious duplex on the 3rd floor, with the bedroom upstairs and duplex windows, but no view to speak of. We weren't advised beforehand of the stairs to the bedroom which were polished wood and rather slippy. A bit of a concern if you had to go down to the loo during the night.
The exclusive use of the wellness centre was extremely welcome and a very relaxing zen space. Unfortunately the steam room was out of order.
The breakfast buffet contained a good selection of hot and cold foods, but on a busy morning, some foods had run out and not replenished.
I understand the tv system has recently been upgraded, but perhaps brief instructions should be available within the welcome pack listing the channels available, how to use netflix, how the remote works and how to change the language on the tv.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return.
Cons: I could not believe the room they gave us- it was practically a monastic cell. I specifically booked this slightly expensive hotel because of the (wildly untrue) pictures on their website. I booked the room with a stone wall because I like old architecture. Instead they gave us some kind of tiny dark room which had absolutely nothing to do with the picture on the website. No charming details, no light, no stone wall, no sign of antique charm… (except for the ceiling beams.)
I politely inquired about the discrepancy in my reservation and they told me the hotel was full so I couldn’t change rooms. Case closed. What a massive disappointment.
(Also the bathtub is much smaller than in the pictures, and there was no bathrobe or slippers in the room. And the mattress and pillows are hard as rocks. Would it kill them to get feather pillows or synthetic feather pillows? At the prices they're charging these details are unacceptable.)
Beware- if you book here who knows what kind of room you’ll get.
They should write a disclaimer on the website that the pictures might not match what you are booking. Or take a picture of every room. Or send you a picture of your room that you're booking so you have the option to cancel it in advance. I would have booked a less expensive hotel if I knew I'd be staying in a dark little room with rock pillows.
