My group and I were looking forward to our stay at the Patio Hostel booked for early April. However, due to the coronavirus and borders closing (including Slovakia) we had to cancel our holiday. All other companies, air lines, coaches, trains and accommodation gave us a full refund or travel credits to use in the future. However, Patio Hostel refuse to budge and will not refund us as they are more interested in themselves and how much the virus will impact the accommodation industry - as per my messages from them. This epidemic is not the consumers fault either. Really poor to say the very least and I, along with my group and other travellers I know will never book here in the future. Have some morals!

Hello together, One of our stops at our Roadtrip was Bratislava. We had booked the Patio Hostel. The Hostel is clean and the stuff is good. The Bar at the hostel is nice too. You have an Animation Team, at my stay there was German and Marco, two guys from Mexico, they are two Back packers and very nice guys 👌 Ten Stars from me. We had a lot of fun at the evening with drinking games and 🎤 Karaoke German and Marco have to organize this games. When you are going with friends to Bratislava is the Patio Hostel a good choise and the position is in the middel of the City from that you can all do without car. You can park at the Hostel but they have only 6 places and one cost 10 Euro at night. In the near Is an other parking place with much places but I don’t know how much does it cost. Regards ✌️

Arriving at the hostel just a short walk from the bus station I was a little weary as I turned down a alley towards. Block of flats, as I walked up I saw the hostel to the left and first thoughts was “uninviting”. I walked in and things started to improve as I was greeted at the reception I was handed a towel, bed linen, a free drink token and hostel information, handed my key and told where to go. I headed up to my room each for has 3 showers and 3 toilets a communal area and an old unused kitchen (signs ask you to use the new one downstairs). I entered my room and was immediately greeted by another guest. I made my bed and put my stuff in my locker (no padlock needed). As it was already the evening I headed down to the bar. Ordered my complimentary drink and found the smoking room. The bar area had table football and a couple of hostel reps getting everyone to join in with games and kareoke. The vibe was a very good and relaxed one. One of the reps came over introduced himself and had a conversation. I then ordered another beer at the bar (€1.70 pint) and went through to the lounge. In the lounge there were sofas, pcs, books, dvds, tv, iPhone music player & board games. The garden is open until 10pm after this time doors are closed to the garden. After 10pm it is quite time so they also close other doors in the hostel to help minimise noise. With the bar closing at midnight and free air plugs from reception the place was very nice and peaceful apart from of course the snoring from guests namely myself! The next day I ventured to the kitchen. Well I have to say it is clearly their latest refurbishment and well done! Very modern and a very good size with tables nd chairs and all the amenities you would need including, plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, pots and pans, whisks the lot! On leaving the kitchen I popped my head into the laundry room to find 2 washing machines and 2 tumble dryers which are FREE for guests to use (soap power available at reception for €1.50 or Tesco just down the road). At just £6.30 per night this was a very enjoyable stay. Bathrooms had also been recently renovated. The rooms are however still basic bunkbeds, with no curtains or light for yourself unlike in some other hostels. If they renovate the rooms next and go down the style of the hive party hostel in Budapest then this hostel will easily be a top hostel in my book!

When I stayed last September this was by far the cheapest place to stay in Bratislava and it turned out to be nicer than I imagined. The beds were comfy with a socket beside them for charging, showers were fine. There is a big kitchen that is very well stocked, it's a really lovely kitchen. There is a nice hang out area with comfy seats and computers. There us also a bar an outside seating area so it's a social hostel without being too crazy, you also get a free drink. Finally there is something that you don't get often in hostels and free laundry! There is a washer and dryer with a line to hang your clothes as well, I can't believe they don't charge you for it and hopefully that continues!

I stayed here for 5 nights in Dec 2019-Jan 2020. I first intended to only stay for 3 but had to extend with how much I was enjoying it! The hostel was wonderful! So comfortable and spacious, there were many bathrooms so if was never an issue of waiting, and the showers were very private. The bar always had tons of people, and the event host Luan was wonderful! He did an amazing job of hosting a different, fun game every night and including all of the guests. As a solo traveler this was a great way to meet other travelers and make friends. I think that Luan’s games that he hosted were my favorite part of staying at the hostel. The facilities are great! There is a common room with many comfortable couches and fooseball, and a community kitchen to do some cooking in. Peter at the front desk was also always helpful. They allowed me to keep my baggage locked away in the luggage room after check out until my bus that was later that night. The front desk also let me borrow a hair dryer, which was a life-saver. All in all, I highly highly recommend staying here. It is a very nice place!
