I was with my family at Bratislava for one night and this Downtown hotel was the perfect stay. Room was clean. Big bathroom. Warm and cozy. The staff was very friendly. The only thing was lil bit noisy from the other ppl walking by, but i will not take a star from this place for that.
It's a nice hotel, good location and well organised. We were placed in the top floor, lovely layout and modernised, but if you are over 6 ft forget it... Low doors and ceilings everywhere. We asked to be moved and they were happy to put us in a room on the ground floor. Again no grumbles with it, other than than its an old building with ill fitting doors and windows, so you could hear every other guest coming and going in the night, and we were over the restaurant /bar, so 6am was lots of banging and noise as they stocked up. This probably sounds like a negative review, but paradoxically we would stay again... Just thought we would let you know what to expect
What a pleasant surprise. Such a lovely hotel, just from the grand entrance. Warm cosy. The only downside was the coffee was a latte version, I only drink black coffee, but you cant go wrong with this place.
Miles better than expected and close to everything we wanted to visit. The reception and rooms were easy to find and the bonus of the restaurant downstairs was great and it had very well priced delicious food. Also an option to buy breakfast. The rooms provided towels, TVs and shampoos and super comfy beds. Would definitely recommend.
Stayed there just for a night on a quick business stopover. It’s well located in central Bratislava, the breakfast served in the morning is more than enough to last until lunch. The room was really nice (bathroom included). I recommend this hotel!
Stayed over a long weekend with friends. We stayed in the hotel part which seems to have had a refurbishment recently. Myself and hus and had a lovely room on the second floor, very light and modern with lovely furniture. All amenities too, kettle, tv etc and a new shower room. My friends, however, were given a room on the top floor. Not good. It was in the eves and only had a bed and side table. No wardrobe, no drawers, no kettle etc. Not even curtains as it had skylight Windows. My friends wife banged her head every time she wanted to get into and out of bed on the sloping roof. Of course we complained. The reception staff were very good and tried their best to help. No room change though as the hotel was full. Next day they had contacted the management who offered a room change as soon as one was free or a reduction in price. As we only had 2 more nights they accepted a refund. Be aware if you offered the top floor. That said, though, we had a co for table stay. The bar next door is lovely, which is part of the hotel. The breakfast is adequate, around in the next street at the reception at Pension Petit. Fortunately for us we booked a taxi through the hotel on arrival so was taken there instead of the hotel so we knew where it was. My only complaint about breakfast is there is no English tea!!!! The hotel is well placed for the Old Town, as it is only a short walk away. For a tip...there is a small bar/ pub ,Bernard's, in the next street..beer at €0.90 for 0.5lt.. We found the reception staff very helpful with information/ taxis and advice on where to go. A day out in Vienna/ Budapest is also easy to do from here. Only 1 or 2 hours away by train. We will definately be back but will take my own supply of tea next time…
Nice clean room with bathroom in a recently renovated hotel. Not noisy at night. Really good value and breakfast was nice. Would recommend for anyone wanting a central place to stay in Bratislava. Near a bus stop if travelling by public transport.
We stayed in a lovely room, it was really spacious and had everything we needed (including kettle, tea and coffee, hairdryer and good wi-fi). Everything was clean and towels were changed once during our stay. Good shower, comfortable beds and pillows. It’s in a great location for exploring Bratislava - close to the old town and public transport. The only (very minor) thing to note is that on the advertising it says that you check in ‘next door’ at the Pension Petit hotel. It’s not next door, it’s across the road and around the corner a bit (a little hard to find, we asked at the cafe that was next door for directions). Would definitely recommend and stay here, in the hotel, again.
We were just about to leave Bratislava to Vienna airport and needed something to eat before jumping in the bus. This was near our accommondation and on the street they had a sign "Sunny terrace open" or something like that. Well, first the terrace. I'm not sure you should be marketing a place that is clearly not cleaned after winter.. or after winter five years ago. But anyway we stayed as we were in a hurry. I had beetroot risotto which was served with goat cheese on top and I liked it. That looked fine and tasted good. My boyfriend on the other hand ordered pasta with creamy chicken and bacon sauce. What a load of crap! First of all the portion looked like the pasta was swimming in the cream. Second the pasta was way too overcooked. It was so soft that you couldn't even bite it before it melted in your mouth. Also it didn't have any flavour at all, nothing! After my boyfriend added lots of salt and pepper he could eat even a little bit to get something in his stomach. Yak! For the first time I saw him almost throwing up because of some food. We didn't complane because we wouldn't have had the time to wait for another portion anyway as we were in a hurry. With this experience I defenetly would not go back or reccomend this place for eating.…
Menu looked so good, but didn't quite deliver. Would be a great place if they could get it right. It was really cheap but even so, out of the 4 of us (2 adults/2 kids) none of us wanted to go back even though we are staying down the road for a week and it would have been handy to have a local place to go.
