Stayed here this weekend for 2 nights and loved it. Very cute wood-panelled rooms (obviously a bit small) and a hilarious bar downstairs with a bar-lady who is a little over-enamoured of the Dirty Dancing soundtrack!

The ramp is a bit of a liability in the snow (one very drunk guest decided to roll down it on our stay - I prefered the slow, steady and dry approach).

Breakfast was fine - hot and cold options.

The location is an easy walk from the old town and castle, but again in the snow can feel a bit too long.

A bit pricey for Bratislave, but otherwise highly recommended!

This is a great hotel, with character and charm. The staff are really friendly and could teach some swanky hotels a thing or two about good customer service.

Like other reviews, i'll say that the rooms are on the small side, but who cares if it's got what you need including air con to warm up when it's minus 7 outside!

Dinner was good value, 3 course meal including a couple bottles of beer for around £13 per head. Again the staff were very attentive. Try the fish restaurant on the opposite side of the road as well!

Bratislava is a compact city and not very touristy, but that's part of it's charm. You can see all the sights within one day and on foot.

Vienna is only a short (1.5 hours) coach ride away, you can catch it from under the bridge Novy Most with the UFO perched on top! It's a bargain to at around £3 one way.

Overall I'd highly recommend this hotel for a unique stay. Only stay for a couple of days if you're planning on seeing the city and Vienna.

Botel was quite easy to find, just get to the danube facing away from centre and botel is along the promenade. Quite near trams so thats good. Novy Most is nearest tram stop I seem to remember.

Botel was quite nice, receptionist was a bit moody but nevermind.

Internet in reception and boat swayed occasionally which was fine, just make sure you expect it or it could surprise you!

Rooms/bathroom smallish but it is a boat, I didnt mind size of room.

Overall ideal for short stay, don't know if I'd want to stay for a week but for night or two is fine.

Would I stay again? Yes probably.

...without having to pay for a cruise!

We stayed for one night on this new 'Botel' in central Bratislava, and it was excellent. It is about a ten minute walk from the heart of the old town, ten minutes walk from the international boat terminal and about a $5 cab ride to the main railway station.

The thing to remember is that this is a boat. The rooms are cabin like, with, in our case, two single beds, wardrobe, TV and a shower room which has all the necessary components shoehorned in without many inches to spare. This is not for those that want a thirty metre run-up to the bathroom! There are suites with double beds, but they were all booked so I have no idea if there is more space in these.

The view out of the room is of the Danube. Maybe not the best bit of the Danube, but it's blue! The wash from large boats passing can feel a bit strange at first but you get used to it and you certainly know you are 'afloat', which is all part of the experience.

Breakfast was fine, and the staff were all very friendly and spoke good English. The restaurant was very tastefully decorated, and the evening menu looked superb, although having filled up with reasonably priced food in the old town, it looked a bit over the top unless you were after something 'special'.

Would we stay again? Yes, definitely, although I would prefer a suite.

Good location but fairly basic. Staff just about civil but not over helpful. Breakfast as mentioned by others was laid out early and only replenished on request and the with attitude - put me off dining in the evening. Our room was on the ground floor below the dining room. Cleaning started at 6am above us and sleep was then out of the question. Room was comfortable and clean but not sure whether the air con would be sufficient to keep cool in summer. Note only single beds in most cabins.

We stayed in the Botel last August, on arrival from the UK for a night before a week in Heviz and for the two nights before we returned... a bookend experience so to speak...and it was at all times great! I have to say that we did up-grade to an appartment for 10£ more a night and it was worth every penny for the extra room. We took a bus from the airport and then a train from the bus terminal to the River...it was a short walk to the Botel, not too bad if you are light on luggage. The hotel is very near to the old town and walking to the castle and main sights is within easy reach.
There is a nice little deck on the back of the boat to enjoy a drink, but there is really only room for two -four people so grab it quick...the restaurant area has big windows that allow you to take in the Danube. The dinner is more expensive on the boat than in town, but superb...the dessert in particular are designed for effect and calorific. We chose to eat dinner there on a rainy night as the river looked wonderful. The breakfast is included and very good. There is free internet in the main part of the reception. The staff are friendly and helpful. The main attraction in summer seem to be the lizards that hide in the rocks along the river and you can see them as you walk too and from your Botel experience...

Absolutely excellent hotel on the Danube about 5-10 minutes walk from the old town of Bratislava situted below the castle. As others have mentioned the rooms are small but with some organisation this is not a problem.

Compared with the price of the other main hotels in the city this hotel is a bargain and people staying there must eat in its restaurant at least once as it really is very good.

Highly recommended (and it only moves very slightly for anyone who was wondering!)

Just got back from a 2 night stay from the Marina and I must agree with much of what has already been written about this botel.
For the price it can't be beaten. Rooms are small, to be expected, but are of a good standard and are well equipped - you even get a mini bar stocked with a few soft drinks and a couple of bottles of beer. It's only a short walk into town but watch out if you try to cross the road near the botel as most cars appear to have little respect for pedestrian crossing without traffic lights.
The onlly downside is that the rooms can get pretty hot and stuffy particularly in the rooms facing the river. The little windows in the rooms don't open by much and the air con isn't up to the job. I wouldn't fancy them much at the height of summer.

I was not to sure about the place when the taxi pulled up on the main road and all i could see was a old shack!!!! after venturing on to the river side i saw the Botel and was relived, once in the reception area I knew why it was rated as a 4+ hotel, the bar area and restaurant were nice, however the nightclub? was always empty and not so good, but i guess you dont go to Bratislava to stay just on the boat. staff in the bar area were very friendly and after making the effort to learn a few local words, we had a good time chatting to them. Reception staff were not unfriendly but then again i think they could have shown the odd smile. bed rooms were ok, as stated before, its a boat, expect boat styled rooms. would deffinately stay their again and am planning to. it's location is also ver good. 5 mins walk down the river and cross the traffic lights and you start in town. worst thing about the place was the mosquitos, we were not expecting them and i ended up with a few bites, their big buggers as well.

Much the same review as above but we had two suites. They were a decent size and very clean. The staff were helpful as well. Note that they have four car parking spaces on the embankment - you can't reserve them but we arrived at lunchtime and only one was occupied - they are free of charge. There are other free public car parks nearby and it seems safe as there were several tour coaches and business vans there all night.
There was plenty to eat at the buffet breakfast, no complaints there.
One small thing though - the cabins had new curtains and they were too small to cover the windows..... not much privacy when someone was fishing on the deck right outside our cabin !!! Other than that it was excellent - very good value - we booked with bratislavahotels who were efficient and the cheapest.

Had a great New Year here - lovely staff. The Botel's charm is that it is right on the river; you enter it via a gangplank so can't take a car down there. We flew in so didn't bring vehicle. I'd suggest phone reception and ask which facilities they use for this? Hope you have a good time!

yes the Botel Marina should be able to sort out a group of 10 people and you are only 5-10 mins walk from the main old town area which should give you enough time to finish your kebabs before you get back to your rooms lol, hope have a great time
