We stayed four days in this excellent hotel in a prime location (just a short walk from/to the airport bus to Vienna Airport) and enjoyed all very much!
Everyone from the staff was always extraordinarily friendly and helpful, our room was surprisingly large, very nicely decorated and had wonderfully comfortable beds. Also in the beautiful bathroom all amenities were available, everything was spotlessly clean.
The generous breakfast times (until 10.30) left plenty of time to enjoy the variety of the buffet in peace and quiet while enjoying the view of the promenade through the large windows.
The location is ideal for sightseeing, almost everything is within easy walking distance, and after that you look forward to coming home when you see the beautiful facade of the house.
It should be noted that the hotel has come up with a particularly nice surprise for a birthday "child", - an additional personal service.
We felt completely comfortable at Carlton and recommend the hotel with the great staff delighted and happy.

With the most prime location in Bratislava, Carlton do also have an interesting history dating back to the old times when the Habsburgers ruled this entire area of Europe.

Reminiscences of past grand times are present. Carlton was a "Grand Hotel" and has managed to retain some of the past time glory.
The grandness is of course not there anymore in the sense of a luxury hotel, but it's a fine four star modern establishment.

Bratislava is not a big city, but as said, location couldn't be better smack in the middle of the city.
Large lobby area which, inexplicably, isn't used to its full potential. Seating in the lobby is sparse and you'd wish for some furniture where you can comfortably sit down and maybe have a coffee or drink. Not so, unfortunately. Just a couple of tables with chairs. Often occupied.

There's a bar adjacent to the lobby. Unfortunately not visitable for us, since the sound level pumping from the speakers made conversation impossible.

Equally strange is the opening times of the restaurant. Closes at 14.00. What?
The restaurant is also where breakfast is served and its good, albeit not terrific.
A lot of guests can crowd the room, so choose your breakfast time wisely (really early or late).

Rooms are moernised an very, very spacious and comfortable. Just fine beds, AC of course and all basic amenities (including an ironing board).
We slept well.

I would say Carlton suits both business as well as tourist/family travelers.

I stayed 5 nights at the Hotel Blu Radisson in Bratislava. The location is perfect. If you arrive by car, do not enter the hotel, but the Carlton parking garage in the old town. From there you can get to the hotel. The parking garage costs 50 euros for 24 hours. You will receive a kind of credit card as a parking ticket, which you can show at reception when you check out, then it only costs you 29 euros/24h. The hotel is housed in a beautiful old building. The rooms are a bit old and are likely to be renovated in the future. But the price for a room is not astronomically high (I paid around 210 euros in October 2023 for 1 night for a large room with a terrace, which you share with others). The taste in the bathroom was not always perfect. The politeness of the employees was limited. The bartenders in the hotel's own bar cannot be accused of a certain arrogance, as they repeatedly made guests wait for minutes even though there were still enough seats available. I didn't understand why. It's almost impossible to strike up a conversation with the locals, which has never happened to me in a city before. A stroll through the old town with its wonderful bars and restaurants is a pleasure. A visit to the UFO (95 m high, with a restaurant and viewing platform) is a must. And I hope that the old main post office on the edge of the old town is a listed building. A "step back in time"! I haven't seen everything and would therefore like to visit the city again, but with company, otherwise you feel very lonely on a stay of several days.

The location was excellent, adjacent to the main square and the old town area. Our room, with a terrace looking over the square, was huge, but there were no real dividers between them, so anyone could just walk over to your room. One morning we found beer cans outside our terrace doors! CREEPY! The furniture was scratched and outdated. No conditioner in the bathroom, which was hell for this carryon-only traveler. The Mirror Bar downstairs is gorgeous, but the drinks are insanely expensive, even for something without the theatrics of some of their molecular gastronomy centered items. We tipped well the first night, as our female server was fantastic, but word must have got around as when we stopped in the next morning for a drink before our spa services (vacation, right?) the male bartender asked us to tip in cash because he said servers don't get the tips if they're added to the credit card bill. We did not return, plenty of other bars in town. We took part in massages at their pretty spa, but our masseuse only really focused on our backs for a very long time (our legs were tired from walking so much!) and the locker room doors (both mine and my husband's) were fully open when we returned from the spa and anyone looking in that direction would have seen one of us naked. Very strange hotel.

If you need a good night sleep do not go there. We booked a superior room with river view two months in advance and when we arrived had to do a long queue to check in, when we got to the room it was small, too hot, the view it was to the river but to a very busy road so if you open window the noise it’s unbearable, when we came back after dinner it was a night club downstairs with extremely loud music , it was impossible to sleep so we complained and refund us half of the money. We moved to a much better and quieter hotel the day after.

The location of the hotel is great. We were disappointed with the breakfast buffet. There were only pastries (rolls and bread) from the day before. The scrambled eggs were not particularly good, they were industrially produced colorless eggs. We had to leave a day earlier than planned and had to pay the full price for one night (188 euros) for which we did not use the hotel room. The lady at reception was not very accommodating (she could have at least charged us for breakfast, as we were not able to use that either, or offered us a voucher for our next stay). Well, next time we visit we will choose a different hotel in Bratislava.

Visited this hotel for a long holiday weekend. It is perfectly situated in the city centre on a central square but is free of noise as the square is traffic-free.
Rooms are very well appointed and beds supremely comfortable. The hotel is a very grand old hotel but is perfectly maintained and is a credit to its staff, all of whom were warm, friendly and very efficient about their work.
I could not think of a better place to stay if you wish to have an enjoyable break in a location that places most points of interest within easy walking distance.
Covid restrictions were being gradually released and so some food offerings were unavailable. Breakfast selection was bountiful and of good quality with staff attentive and cordial.
I recommend this hotel without hesitation.

Everything was perfect. I had an early checked-in cause I arrived at the hotel at 2pm and had an upgraded room with complimentary water, fruits and dessert as well. The room was big for a solo traveller like me. I also love the scenery of the Old Town from the view of my room. The wellness area, superb, never leave the hotel without experiencing it. The breakfast was yummy and had a lot to choose from. It was a well rounded and customer satisfactory experience. One thing, don't forget to become a member for this upgraded experience. Worth it.

First time at this hotel. Quite impressive when viewed from the outside and so convenient for walking around the city. At check in, I asked for an upgrade as a VIP member but was assured that I had already been given one. When I arrived at my room, I realised it was a family room, so quite spacious but the settee had already been made up as a bed, which I didn't understand as I was on my own! No explanation was given for this but very quickly 2 people appeared to take care of the situation, removing the duvets and pillows, and returning the bed to a settee. Then to my surprise, a lady arrived with a vacuum cleaner to ensure everything was fine! I was surprised that there was a bath with a shower over, rather than a walk-in shower. The manager said that such a facility was in a 'higher grade' of room. I pointed out that I was a VIP member and surely could be given such a room but nothing happened. No concierge service, which was disappointing. I am accustomed to such a service where you can ask about half-day, full-day tours, etc. Very disappointing. Breakfast was very good but only on one morning was I actually asked my room number. The hotel was very busy and at times, it seemed that the staff could not keep up with all the demands of the guests. It would have been nice to be greeted, shown to a table and asked if tea or coffee could be brought to the table. I appreciated how conveniently the hotel is situated. It was so easy to leave the hotel and stroll around the beautiful city. One day I took a ferry to Vienna. Lovely to travel along the Danube. Getting a taxi early in the morning was no problem and had a pleasant experience with an excellent taxi driver, travelling to Vienna airport.

Excellent location. Main Christmas Market is directly outside - literally a few steps. SNP Most bus station only 5 mins walk away. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby (cafe Opera is excellent for coffee). Billa supermarket is 2 mins walk around the corner. 5 mins walk to the town centre. The hotel looks stunning on the outside, it is an impressive building. It is perfectly fine, however inside is just missing any wow factor. It generally lacked warmth and is quite corporate looking inside. They have not used the entrance space well. There is no relaxing seating area/lounge chairs. They really could have made it a lot better. Regarding the room, this is also fine. It is clean but nothing special. Missing small touches like suitcase stand and furniture (rather empty big room, could have done with sofa). Slept well, bed and pillows are comfy and we had nice view of the market with live music from the market in the evening. Breakfast was also good. Although we noticed someone have avocado but when I asked they said they did not have any… Despite this, would definitely choose to stay in this hotel again.

Dear Samantha, If you are arriving by car, there is a Carlton Garage right under our hotel, but it is not a property of the hotel so please notice the extra fee (29 euro/night during the week, 22 euro/night during the weekend) – please stop by at the reception to activate your parking card which you will receive at the entrance of the garage. We hope to see you soon!
