Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Forest. A forest in the city. You travel with animals, you love quiet and trees. Morning run up-down hill. Wind rushing in the treecrowns, sun playing among leaves. Amidst the city of Bratislava is the Kamzik Koliba forest with the TV tower (which hosta a revolving restuarant and a caffe) only 500m from the Hotel. All the above you find there. Do not expect to be in the centre, but you get in it in 10min with a cab. A folk style restaurant is at the hotel. Thus offering a nice evening. Hotel offers a solid standard, not modern, no posh, a home feeling and small team taking care of you. Enjoy

Very decent hotel located 10 minutes from the center of Bratislava. The hotel is neat and clean and the morning breakfast is plentiful and offers a good choice for everyone. The only complaint is that the rooms are not heated and they should be, since it was cold outside.

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel West. Away from the city on top of the hills outside of Bratislava surrounded by forests, beautiful area and stress free. Many activities close by and tracks to walk along. The hotel itself is a bit old school but the room we had was spacious and comfortable and had all that we needed. The staff were great. Especially the man at reception during the evenings. Very helpful. Breakfast were good and sufficient

If you like an 'authentic' Slovakian' hotel in the woods then this is the one for you. No public transport but the taxi into town is around E10. The room is clean but very dated, with a teutonic shallow bath deep enough to bathe your calves. When you are sat down! And a shower that is not up to modern rainforest storm quality but adequate. I really liked the restaurant with a good range of local food beautifully cooked and served. I enjoyed the breakfast too

A lovely hotel not that far away from downtown (10 minutes with car). The room is really huge, nicely equipped. It's clean. Bathroom and toilets are separated. Staff is nice. Breakfast has choices and is good. Access by car is not easy. The hotel directions are perfect but the roads are small and some in a bad shape.

Nothing bad to say, really, the hotel is in very quiet location above the Bratislava, with awesome equipment, cheerful staff and comfort rooms. You can enjoy a little "hiking" trip, feel like a kid again in the nearby bobsled and have yourself a nice cheap meal in one of the nearby kiosks.

So we stayed here for 4 night's. I got it in my head that I did not want to stay in the city of Bratislava but in the country side. And from my computer in Ireland this ticked all the boxes . So how did it work out ? Well we got a room on the 3rd floor with a cool view. It's also in a amazing quite setting. You are staying In the woods in this one. The staff were nice and friendly .however the hotel and room and basic enough. Apartly this is a 4 star. If this is a 4 star and hate to see a 3 star. It's clean and plenty of space. However It was built The early 90's and it seems nothing has been done to it sense. There is a lovely restaurant in the grounds of the hotel and makes up for the time machine rooms. Also we hired a car while we were here. There no public transport to the hotel

Average, old hotel with vintage furniture and poor service. Strange place far away from centre with ugly discotheque downstairs. Old fashioned bathrooms but clean. Poor breakfast in the restaurant. If you like 80s, this is the place for you.

It stated four stars, this is simply not true. The hotel doesn´t have AC nor full body mirror etc. History has set it´s claws in to this hotel, it´s time to put some effort in renovating it. Not satisfied.

Big rooms but with thin walls. WC was in a a tiny separate room (not in the bathroom). Weak WIFI signal in the room. Big parking. Staff relatively indifferent (no smiles, no advices). Not enough friendly attitude. Far, far away from the city center.
