The hotel is clean and has got friendly staff. It has a facility for little children to bath and have fun. It is also used as a business meeting hotel and serves this well. Only if you go there you need a car as public transport stops 2km away and you need to walk uphill to get to the hotel. Taxi drivers don't like to go there.
The hotel is in the middle of a wood and you can hire a horse for a good day out. But to town and back you need a taxi as there are no taxis at the last stop of public transport.

Quiet hotel 10 minutes from city center by car. Great choice if you come to Bratislava by car. Very good value for money, considering extremelly high prices of Bratislava hotels. I like the possibility to take short walk in surrounding wood after all day spent at meetings but still beeing close to the city.
Rooms are all right - means matching price. Breakfast slightly above Bratislava standards but still well below Vienna standards.
Tip: If you don't have a car or are party animal, stay rather in some city center hotel - but than be ready to pay 50-80% more for the same quality.

Very decent hotel located 10 minutes from the center of Bratislava. The hotel is neat and clean and the morning breakfast is plentiful and offers a good choice for everyone. The only complaint is that the rooms are not heated and they should be, since it was cold outside.

Very poor hotel. The elevator only works until 7pm. I've never heard of that in my life. And after 10pm you have to use the back door, not the front door.
The walls are very thin, you can hear noise from the other rooms.

good points: hot water works

conclusion:
don't experiment with this hotel if other options are available

The location of this hotel is awful. It is in a remote place. 10 mintues is a long way from the city center. It is almost in the country. I believe it is in near the forest preserve. However, I had to take a cab into the city and even though it was not that expensive (though each cabbie charged me something different) it added up. And when I went back at the end of the day, I felt sort of stuck there, unless I wanted to pay for another cab.

The hotel itself was clean and my room was huge. The staff was okay. Some were more friendly than others. When I could not sleep at night, the evening desk clerks let me use one of the office computers to surf on line.

The restaurant was okay too. Breakfast was included and I ate dinner there since I did not have many other options.

I would check out other hotel options closer to the city center. Bratislava is a great city. I just wished I stay at a more convenient hotel.

So we stayed here for 4 night's. I got it in my head that I did not want to stay in the city of Bratislava but in the country side. And from my computer in Ireland this ticked all the boxes . So how did it work out ?

Well we got a room on the 3rd floor with a cool view. It's also in a amazing quite setting. You are staying In the woods in this one. The staff were nice and friendly .however the hotel and room and basic enough. Apartly this is a 4 star. If this is a 4 star and hate to see a 3 star. It's clean and plenty of space. However It was built The early 90's and it seems nothing has been done to it sense.

There is a lovely restaurant in the grounds of the hotel and makes up for the time machine rooms.

Also we hired a car while we were here. There no public transport to the hotel

It should have been perfect:

Out of the way hotel - check

Parking spaces - check

Large, clean room - check

Lovely food and drink - check

But after I went back to my room, it became one of my worst nights ever.

The restaurant seems to be owned by someone else who doesn't care about the hotel clientele, loads of noise by people with the TV "HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA" laugh every 2 seconds - they finally left at around 11pm, taking about 20 minutes to do so.

It was then over to the owners poor little dog to cry and bark for the next 2 hours... I nearly called animal protection over its poor screams - horrible to listen to.

None of this really matters as my room had no air con, and was the warmest place I've ever been, I had 8 showers during the night and had a 2am walk outside to try and cool down - it was disgusting.

Things never improved at breakfast - now if you check, this place have been told for YEARS that their breakfast was rubbish, I had hoped they had changed, alas no, no they haven't.

There was nothing out for me, no meat, No cheese nothing... I got handed a 'cooked' menu which I ordered a very well done boiled egg... It came out with the white still runny!

They clearly don't care about their guests, when I made my complaint, I just got a shrug of the shoulders as if to say 'so what'

I asked to speak to the owner, after all, I like to make my point face to face, but was denied this too, even though I could see him and they pointed him out - never seen a guy move so quick.

It could be so much better, but what a let down.

I will say that apparently I got a discount for saying I was unhappy, but they have also separated from Best Western which was mentioned during the conversation... And this was discounted too.

To be honest. I'm not sure I paid anything less than I was meant to.

I can't wait for the the generic reply that seems to come with these reviews, you can read them over and over again - been the same for years - pitty they are too scared to talk to you in person.

Dear guest, I am very sorry, that you felt uncomfortable in our hotel. Please let me write some words on the basic of your complaint: Restaurant - You are right , there is another owner of the restaurant . On my point of view it is normal, that people have fun during their dinner. But of course if guests were too noisy, staff should have intervened. Non-aircondition in the room - This information is available everywhere on our websites. For the future, it will be better to ask our receptionists, because there is an option to lend an electric fan to every guest. This summer was really hot, it is not usual in Bratislava. Breakfast- I think that our breakfast is not luxury but normal. The average price for a room in our facility is 45 €/single room, 55€/double room so we are not able to offer breakfast like in hotels where the room costs 80 € or higher. If tere is something missing on the breakfast table, there are breakfast staff who are ready to prepare you what you like. But of course there should have been everything on the breakfast table during the breakfast time. The little dog- it was a dog of our owner and it was a fierce storm outside so it was frightening for the dog. It is very happy dog, don´t worry. And to your wish to speak with an owner. Our owner can´t speak english, so please apologize him. And Me as a manager, I was on holiday. I am very sorry that there was nobody whom you can speak with. As my apologize I would like to offer you 2 nights in an apartment inkl. breakfast for 2 person free. I hope ,I will hear from you soon. Best Regards Michaela Kvasničkovoá manager

:( :( :( :( :( my vocabulary is poor to explain so I will just tell you like this:

4 star hotel - cleaning once per week , I was told at reception....?????
4 star hotel - no air conditioning in the rooms, or any heating, bless the curtains , for keeping the warmth in the room , a corner room with 2 external walls in winter season with - 7 to - 15 outside,it is not a good offer, condense from the windows , leaking and dripping to the floor at 4 am, can drive you crazy ....
noises from the ventilating system in bath and toilet , can wake up a dead man / and there is no separate key for light/ventilator /
a light bulb exploded 1.30 am, when I switch the light key on my way to toilet , and knocked me on the head , all the floor was in glass for next 3 days no one came to clean the place...... :(
walls between the rooms are so thin, you can perfectly hear next door person sneezing, snoring, coughing and not only that :( :( :( :( for last :

reconstructions was going all the 2 weeks I was there:

a drilling machine woke me up in 11.00 am at Saturday, and kept drilling until 14 pm......?????
please do not forget we still speak for , a 4 star hotel ..... drilling maintained next few days on periods , morning afternoon , late afternoon... ??????????
Finally the night before I had to leave, a hammer knocking woke me up at 22.30 , and again in 01.20 am..... I had to woke up in 07 .00 am to pack and leave .....

To tell you honestly , there are way more better hotels than this one in Bratislava, and next time I will choose carefully, for a better rest....

You need a car and navigation to find the place. Location is not to far from the city, but can be hard to find. Lovely location. The hotel and rooms are nice and spacious. The staff in the reception are doing a great job and are being helpful and very friendly.
The breakfast were uneatable for our taste as the bred were old and tasted like mold and the cheese were sweeting and hard. Even breakfast were included we only attended one morning and bought our breakfast outside of the hotel the others.
We ate in the restaurant the first and last evening. Food were great but the service, specially last evening, were horrible. We did feel we had been placed in the middle of a episode from the TV series "The Hotel", as we never in our life have experienced such behavior from any hotel staff. It were so rude we almost found it funny, and it were also clear that the staff favorited guests from Slovakia and behaved rudely to us from other countries.
The room cleaning were just as bad, as all they did were change towels and somewhat make the bed. No clean glasses or emptying of trash.
Even if the reception claimed the car wash were open, the guy working there denied to do any work.
We are sure there must be better alternative hotels in this beautiful city and really doubt we will ever stay here again. This is the worst Best Western hotel I have ever visited. I feel sorry for the staff in the reception and the chef that have to be dragged down by lousy co workers.
