Hotel Tatra was a bit of a mixed bag. The room itself was no frills, with a very small single bed (I was traveling solo, so that is all I reserved) and not much space to move in around in. Staff was always available and helpful in providing directions and advice though.

Moreover, I was stunned by the breakfast buffet, easily by far the best one I encountered on this multi-country trip. There were literally dozens of options, from different hot foods to cheeses to cold cuts to salads to desserts, and my only worry was filling up before I could sample most of them. The dining room was enormous and this was included in the reasonable room rate, making this quite a good value as I did not need to purchase lunch later on since I was still so full from the huge delicious breakfast. And did I mention a complimentary glass of prosecco was included with it, along with the usual juices and coffee/tea?

As for location, it is about halfway between the train station and the center/tourist sights, so about 15 minutes' walk to either place. Train station can also be reached by bus, which is what I did for the return trip, to try both methods.

This hotel might not have a well known brand name, but it delivers where it counts, in basic clean accommodations and a surprisingly generous breakfast. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Big hotel with perfect location and good breakfast.
Rooms are very small and had no air. It’s smells like they haven’t get any fresh air in years. In then bathroom can enter only person at the time.
Breakfast is continental ! Lot of variety, for every taste.

I was in Bratislava for a conference, and happened to stay at the Tatra, which is located fairly favourably for a number of venues and sights.
While the staff proved to be rather helpful and courteous, the hotel was showing some ageing signs (or little things that could be taken better care of).
The check-in process was probably needlessly long.
The washbasin in my bathroom was annoyingly blocked, so that any amount of water coming out of the tap took ages to go down the drain.
Also, soundproofing could be looked into to give guests a vastly better experience.

I am very happy to give you feed back about our stay.

Firstly we would never return to the hotel as I personally had booked it because it had a restaurant & bar which we have not been able to make use off because it was closed on both days. We asked for a menu for local takeaways and we were told there were none but on saying this we returned to reception and the only person who was 100% helpful was Andre, (Thank you Andre very much you are exceptional at your job. )

We have found the hotel in general clean and the breakfast was lovely, we required some things from the accomadation staff which they supplied without a problem ( thank you for this).

We had also requested room service if this was available as there were five of us two are elderly ladies and one has a medical condition, this was also refused and in the weather conditions on one of our evenings this is totally disgraceful. I had spoke to one of the staff members the evening before and was told the restaurant would be open the following night until 9.30pm which was totally untrue. We are all very dissapointed with our stay and will certainly not be recommending this hotel to friends and family

Thank you very much

Denise & party.

We stayed 3 nights at Tatra Hotel. Our room was spacious, clean and adequately equipped including comfy beds, kettle for tea & coffee etc. The hotel is located on a busy street, about 10 minutes walk into the centre of the old town. Breakfeast was excellent, offered great options from fresh fruit, chees, vegetable, cooked food etc. Sparkling wine was also available.
Good value for money and would definitely recommended.

On arrival the receptionist seemed a bit standoff-ish but after a few minutes she was more relaxed and became the most amazing staff member.

The room was super. Large. Bright. Air conditioning. Bidet. Super Kingsize bed and comfortable too.

I’d rate this as a functional 3 star hotel. Room was clean but very no frills. Had very friendly service in the restaurant for lunch whilst I waited to check in (arrived at 12 but couldn’t check in for 2-3 hours). Room overlooked a very busy road with noise until late and again early morning. Did nit like the automatic lighting in the hotel corridors was a bit creepy not being able to see down corridors until the sensor lighting came on - didn’t create a welcoming feeling especially as a solo female traveller. Did what it said on the tin but wouldn’t return could use a facelift/modernisation - needs to decide if it’s going to rely on its 1930’s heritage or go completely contemporary

Good location few minutes walk from old town, super markets and restaurants. Rooms have a descent size, clean and relatively new. Aircon is okay, but limited to go down to 21 degrees. Could use a bit more aircon when very hot. Breakfast is descent. Staff very friendly. Parking 18 euros per day,

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Conveniently located 5 to 10 minutes walk from the historic centre of Bratislava. Staff were efficient and helpful. Plenty of options for breakfast. Check in was 4.00pm but we arrived early at 12.30. We asked to wait in the Reception lounge for 5 minutes while they completed cleaning our room then we were checked in. Would definitely stay here again.

Central location. Parking is big and next to the house. It is not included in the listed price for the room.
The hotel is a strange mixture of modern interior renovation with the old architecture of the building. Everything is new but in a strange way reminds me of old post socialist era.
The apartment I lived was spacious and comfortable. Sleeping quality is an issue. The duvet cover was so thick that I was sweating all the night. It will be good for winter, but for the summer they have to change it with a lighter one. Never managed to make the AC functioning in a normal way. A manual for it was not available.
Sleeping pillows were not comfortable. One was enormous and is good for leaning and the second one was too small. No pillows with standard size.
Overall this is an excellent 3 star hotel on a price of a 4 star.
