We spent 6 nights in a room with a balcony on the 6th floor. Plus: Great price (due to the covid approx 30% less than usually) Nice room - coffee/tea tray set, great view, comfortable beds, nice shower, cleanliness, good airco. Smart flat Tv with Youtube and Internet Good quiet location. Friendly staff Due to the covid, the cleaning of the rooms was provided on request by hanging the sign on the handle - it worked perfectly and the nice cleaning ladies even speak some English. The less nice: Hotel definitely looks a bit tired The choice of the TV programs is limited - too many Russian and Chinese channels, many channels are "empty". Breakfast without much fantasy and of a lower quality, as could be expected for a 4* - however, this could be the effect of the lowered prices. Still, neither that could be an excuse for the poor quality of the coffee. One small lift is definitely not enough and it is rather slow as well The stairs which are the only exit alternative to the lift, is kind of 2-3* experience, with an old carpet, ugly repeating photos on the wall, and some dusty plants. Definitely not a safe emergency exit in case of an fire.…
Our spacious hotel room faced the back which was good, no sun in our room during the day. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom contained a bath tub but no shower head holder. While showering the water went underneath the protection wall, where there is a 1 to 2 cm gap and wetted the floor and the only place to put dry clothes (the toilet lid). The fan in the bathroom worked pretty good. But the airconditioning not that properly, in other words it didn’t cool much the temp down only to a certain degree and it was really noisy. We couldn’t have let the aircon running during the night. Room service needs to be requested while putting out a sign on the door. Breakfast was a buffet. It offers a vast variety of food and drinks. I had coffee from the machine and out of a can. Both times it tasted more like water only the colour was different to water. Same with the orange juice and hit chocolate. So both of us only drank water our tea as anything else was weird. Due to Corona we both got really fed up. Other people didn’t respect the rules and regulations wearing a mask as obliged while getting up to get more things to eat or to drink. Even most of the staff members wear their mask below the nose or chin. I’ve never seen a staff member pointing out the wrong behaviour of guests not wearing a mask. I guess it won’t take long till the next wave of Corona outbreak comes and travelers bring it to their country. It’s not a respectful behaviour. We didn’t feel well in that hotel.…
After reading so many positive reviews my girlfriend and I were excited to check out the Apollo Hotel on our two day stay in Bratislava. First the positive: - Great staff, most were very friendly and helpful! - Salt cave - kinda cool to spend 30 - 40 mins there... and chill out The not so good: - Overall impression of the hotel - needs a refresh! - Rooms are very dated - ours was definitely not like the photo ( although facing the back of the hotel is quiet and has a bit of a view from the 5th floor) - Location - not the best neighborhood and far from the old town... if you're short on time not the place to be - Parking - 9 Euro but apparently can park for free on all the streets around the hotel just so you know - Breakfast - maybe they cut some corners here due to Corona... but breakie turned out to be below average for a four star hotel. All in all if this is a three start hotel at best .... not sure what the other reviewers experienced that I missed.…
We stayed one night in the Apollo hotel and we were satisfied. The rooms are renovated and very clean. The bed was huge but I missed a hard pillow. The neighborhood is not the best but walking to the city center is only 15 min. The breakfast was good, but I felt not really safe as the food was served as a buffet and almost no guest was wearing a mask. This we saw better in other hotels. The price is reasonable.
Fantastic, clean hotel for any stay in Bratislava. Rooms come equipped with high-speed internet and the WiFi is fantastic. TVs in the rooms have Netflix etc built in which was a great alternative to the local stations and the limited number of English channels. The rooms were cleaned spotlessly each day. The hotel is a short, 20 minute walk, to/from the Old Town/Eurovea shopping centre down a relatively straight road past the on-going modern high-rise developments. The hotel is also only a 5 minute walk from the main bus station for Bratislava. If walking isn't an option, the Number 50 bus stops outside the hotel which goes into the town and seemed to be relatively frequent, however we never used this whilst we were here. It also goes across the Danube to the Aupark shopping mall which is also worth a visit. The only issue we had was that we couldn't seem to work the air-conditioning as the room was roasting with the sun shining through the windows - no matter what we done, it never seemed to go to a cooler temperature. Also, the shower screens in the bathroom would swing meaning water would go all over the bathroom, we used the shower-caps provided and wedged them between the bath and the glass screen to solve this. The free bottle of water provided in the room daily was also sparkling which was a shame. Would not hesitate to stay here again if in Bratislava and would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city.…
