Just a quick overnight stay and breakfast before hitting the airport. The stay was as expected from a brand name franchise. The hotel is nicely situated which is a big bonus. In five days had to change two Radisson brand hotels, Red in Vienna and Park inn in Bratislava. Park inn had lot les character than Red, but overall the stay in Bratislava was quite pleasant and met all my expectations.
We stayed at this hotel for three nights and used its conference facilities to run the training/ workshop as well. A great place, with an eye-pleasing décor and lovely, relaxed ambience; closely located to Bratislava Castle, Danube or Old Town attractions. There were two ‘features’ that made our stay extra special here: amazing staff (EVERYONE we dealt with was approachable, friendly, professional and helpful) and quality of food (varied and rich breakfast selection as well as break refreshment/ lunch provided during workshops). Looking forward to our next visit – wishing you all the best!
As the title says the location is excellent, right in the heart of the old town. The base rate for the room was also competitive, however make sure that you factor in that everything else beyond basic service will be an extra charge. The service was also mixed, check-in staff were nice, check out staff seemed fed up and unfriendly. I might consider staying again especially if I didn’t have a car but only for the location and only if no other good alternatives were available. Points that negatively impacted our experience below. 1. We were informed that our booking did not include access to the gym/pool and that these would be charged extra on a daily basis if we were to use them. I do not recall this being noted during the booking process, and in any case I believe this is the first hotel I have come across that charges for the gym. 2. Daily parking was 30 eur / day I believe for people staying in the hotel. Management will defend this as “competitive” for the location, in other words they are happy to participate in price gouging standard for the few hotels in the same area. The fact that other hotels in the same area charge extortionate amounts does not make the practice better, and it leaves a sour taste in the mouth. The workaround suggested for this was to park the car some 20 mins walk away across the other side of the river trying to find a spot that was available in a couple of free locations. This results in significant inconvenience and the car is not secure either. 3. The hotel itself is completely soulless. Our room was some distance from the elevator and wandering through the long corridors reminds one more of a jail than a hotel. The outside of the hotel also has a garish pattern that I was informed by people in the city that the hotel did not obtain permission for and has been using covid as an excuse not to remove it. 4. The pool was so cold that my wife (who normally likes swimming in almost any conditions) decided it was not worth swimming in. 5. The room was hot and air conditioning did not function. The only workaround was to open the window (which doesn’t open all the way of course). With the window open the room was still not cool enough to sleep well and it was also very noisy since the room was next to the main road by the river. We complained about the air conditioning and was informed that someone from maintenance would check it (we don’t know if this ever happened). On check out we commented again and were told without much explanation that it’s not supposed to work well. Great, so a poor quality of sleep in heat is part of the service? 6. In case you have a car and want to load your luggage into the car during check-in and check-out the hotel offers 15 mins of free parking. The problem is that 15 mins is not sufficient to complete the check-in and check-out process so offering the free 15 mins is completely pointless. Even if you wanted to optimise your time in the car park (e.g. by bringing bags down in advance to be able to quickly load them to the car) there is nowhere nearby to move the car to while completing the rest of the process. When checking out we parked the car, went straight to the room to pick up the bags (long walk to room), packed them in the car and went straight to the check out desk. We arrived at the check out desk 16 mins after entering the car park. Check out took 5-10 mins. So total time was 21-26 mins having done everything as quickly as possible. We asked whether it would be possible to waive the (1 hour) parking fee because we had literally done nothing but check out. The staff looked at us like we were crazy.. “We allow 15 mins of free parking to check out, otherwise you have to pay for 1 hour.” We pointed out that this time doesn’t actually allow you to check out without paying for parking and the reply was a shrug and an attitude like they couldn’t give a ****. After the rest of the experience, this last bit of unfriendly pettiness left a sour taste in the mouth.…
The trip was perfect and the location of the hotel is fantastic The view from our was great, although we did ask to change rooms The rooms are cold at night , the air conditioning is difficult to work However the overall stay was great
Spent the weekend in Bratislava and stayed here. The location is great. From the hotel you have a view of the castle as well as the Danube and UFO. Straight away you‘ve covered three of the sights in Bratislava. The old town starts just on the other side of the hotel and you can walk everywhere. Breakfast was superb. Nothing to complain about the hotel room. All ok. I was lucky to have gotten a room with a view of the castle. You could hear the traffic lightly from the room although the windows are double glazed but I wasn’t bothered. Parking is €32/day, special rate for hotel guests. This was the only downside. I did write twice to the hotel before the trip for information and never got any reply. For a Radisson, this reflected poorly on them. Nevertheless, I would recommend this hotel for it‘s location and easy access, if you have no problems with the parking fees.…
The overall breakfast level isn't as expected, no much variety, no enough space for sitting, sometime dirty tables without sanitization. They have only 2 waiters for a lot of tables and people walking and looking for free and clean tables. This could be really improved
Great hotel next to the new bridge, with river view, in the entrance of historic center. Great spa, awesome top floor big rooms/apartments without breaking the bank! Definitely recommended for both short and long stays.
Park inn....by Who? By Radisson .....(Not really a Radisson experience) I am not even sure where should I start: 1. The night we arrived we get a room offered - we pay for the full stay, breakfast and room upgrade - We get into the room and guess what - the window is open and can't be closed at all - you could hear all the noise from the traffic outside - The reception offered another room which was similar and this time the window could not open at all but at least it could stay shut 2. I have been informed from the site that we get bathrobes and slippers for the Spa included in the room - We get in the spa and we encounter the following: a. No bathrobes available b. The entry watch bracelet was broken (no one cares anyway around here) c. Jacuzzi is broken (as it would affect anyone - sigh) d. We receive some towels that are such a bad quality that do not resemble in any shape, form the brand Radisson, maybe a motel, yes e. We had to ask for slippers at the reception as they would not provide these without asking (although these should have been in the room) 3. We are going to breakfast 1st and 2nd morning - and we'be been told that ''Your breakfast is not paid'' and we had to argue that we paid it and start the day in a bad mood because there is no communication between Front Desk and F&B department - quite annoying and frustrating experience 4. The toilet was malfunctioning, had to ask the reception to call maintenance department to fix it, but it still did not get fixed 5. Breakfast - quite poor and really not the best quality (had way better food outside of this hotel) 6. Amenities missing from the room (no ear cotton buds, no face pads)- minimum requirement as standards in most hotels Anyway - after all this bad experience - I would really not come back, since I feel that small hotels offer more including genuine experiences and help, than this type of Brand Hotels which are only focused to make money - providing less for more I would kindly want a GM from another Park Inn hotel, to stay 3 nights and go through the same hassle and see how you feel.... I think I had my standards too high for Radisson, but now I realise how low it went ....service/experience wise I tried not to have this stay ruin my travel to Bratislava, but could not overcome the frustration created…
My stay at Park Inn was great. The staff is extremely helpful and professional. I give it 10/10. I was there for business but it felt like being on a vacation. I felt like home. I would love to visit again soon. A big thank you and Bravo to Park Inn Team.
