Good location close to tram from train station and within quick distance from old town and places to explore. The rooms are a good size and breakfast good variety and quantity. Good value for money. You can have dinner or lunch there but didn't get the change - though given it was very busy guessing its good. Staff helpful and attentive.

We only stayed here for 1 night passing through Bratislava, the pension is central and clean and does what it says on the tin.
It is only 2 minutes walk for all that there is to see in Bratislava.
The room was clean and tidy and quiet, everything you need for a good nights sleep.
The only suggestion I would have is access to the a fridge and kettle to make a cup of tea and store cold drinks. Then I could have stayed longer.
The host is polite, accommodating and informative. All in all for a short break it is ok.

We had a great stay, rooms are clean and spacious, the 2-room suite is ideal for a family. Brilliant traditional large breakfast, with different options both days we stayed. Fantastic central location close to twin city liner terminal, and the old town. Service with a smile and nothing too much trouble, including helping to sort out our overdue airport transfer. Highly recommend this place if you like a more traditional, local place.

It is ideally located in the centre of the old city of Bratislava, very close to the river Danube. With it being located in the old city using public transport to get to it is difficult, as pulling suit cases across cobbled streets was hard.
The building the Penzion is in is very old, so it has those old quirks that come with this, narrow staircases, squeaky floorboards, odd shaped rooms.
We stayed in the two bedroom apartment, was a good size for four adults. The bathroom was a bit small but it met our needs.
With is being an old building the owner is having trouble convincing the city to let him install AC in the rooms.
The breakfast is al carte style, just ask and if they have it in the kitchen they will make it for you. Do not expect big steak and eggs though.

This pension have perfect location, you are already directly in city centre. We visited Bratislava during christmas markets and it was just 100 meters from pension. We had rooms for 4 persons for very good price. Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I fully recommend this pension!

This was our second visit to Bratislava and this time we stayed for 4 nights, obviously at Portus!
Can't beat the location, value and the staff is friendly and very helpful! The coffee machine is always available with freshly ground coffee :-) The four of us had dinner in the medieval cellar, the waiter had no problems negotiating the narrow stairs. We had no problems with any of the doors... not even returning home after a few drinks hahaha
The "Blaguss" busline from and to Vienna airport stops at the SNP bridge, which is 5 minutes walk from Portus, how convenient is that!
Danube and the old town is just a few minutes away, walk across the bridge to UFO restaurant or up to the castle for a bit of excersize.

The location is perfect and the price was reasonable. Our family of 7 had ample room. 2 of us in one room and the other 5 in another with 2 bedrooms. Lots of stairs and no elevator as expected in a historical building in Old Town. Right behind the US Embassy, close to the Danube and lots of restaurants and pubs. Although the tram was nearby, we walked everywhere.

It was very clean and we enjoyed the breakfast very much. One guy, Martin I think, spoke excellent English. The others not so much, but they were very patient with my "broken Slovak."

We are planning a return visit next year.

Penzion Portus is right in the centre of Bratislava, and in an area cluttered with expensive hotels, it stands out by its friendly price. Rooms are simple, but adequate, with toilet and shower, good beds and good wifi. The owner is very nice and hospitable, he offered a free drink (in my case, a beer) on arrival and was helpful, but he hardly speaks a foreign language. The breakfast is not included, but value for money too.
One disadvantage: there is no parking space, and parking in the centre of town is expensive. In the end, it almost cost me as much as the room itself.

Stayed here for 3 nights during the last week of September - the place is very welcoming especially if you arrive late at night after a rather tortuous journey by public transport. One of its strengths is its location right next to the rather overwhelming American Embassy but at least that way every taxi driver should know where to take you. The other attribute is that it is a stone's throw from the mooring point for the boats which ply the magnificent Danube - definitely worth a trip to visit Vienna and finally it is very close to the gentrified old town. Miro (ex Hotel Imperial Cork, Ireland), Roman and Martin the owner can not do enough for their guests. Breakfast is anything you want - if they do not have it ie muesli they nip out to the local shop to purchase it.
The kitchen really operates to serve lunch to the local people who work in this part of time but I recommend one of their dishes for supper - sadly kitchen shuts when the cook goes home at 20.00. The warmth of the hospitality is what sets Penzion Portus apart - that and the location.
Sadly those ladies looking for luxury in their sleeping arrangements will be disappointed - the rooms are clean but the soft furnishings are in short supply. But overall heartily recommend this unpretentious inn and I shall be returning with friends. ( It is a bit of a schlepp from the railway station for those who arrive this way - better to arrive on a Danube boat)

In the middle of the old town, this was our first introduction to Slovakian hospitality and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff of this small and simple pension. The room was not great but functional with a good bathroom. Breakfast whilst not included is well worth having and includes juice, coffee, cold meats and cheese plus ham and fried eggs and enough bread to fill even my ample stomach. If you don't mind the slightly curious room furnishings then this is a great place to stay.

I was traveling by bicycle and was able to lock it up in front of the Pension. You should email portus@portus.sk to get an answer to your question. Martin should be able to answer your question.
