Always love the Dream/Safestay hostels, my go-to hostel chain(s?) where available. Curtained (and comfortable) beds are so, so nice for a bit of privacy especially on long solo trips. Great location near the train station, pleasant walk to the old station, central bus station is walkable plus trams/buses. Nice common area with plenty of tables, snacks, cheap beer; chill but sociable. All the receptionists are super lovely and helpful (am embarrassed to admit I don't remember anyone's name). Fabulous showers! I don't really have anything negative to say... dorm was a bit freezing at times, I guess? But yeah, would definitely recommend.

Dear Traveller, Thank you for your kind review, we are really happy that you like our atmosphere and location. I am happy that you had a good experience in our hostel in Bratislava, however some nights were surprisingly cold this february. I am sorry that you were cold, but each room has its own heating that the guest can control, if they are cold or its too hot in the room. Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we hope we can host you again. Have a nice day Bogi

The hotel was in a great location, the rooms were nice and warm but it was an hostel and not an 4 star hotel (like on some website). I felt a bit unsafe about the doors were not locked at all, the walk from the entrance to the hostel were lack of light. The beds were so uncomfortable and the same goes to the pillows.
I got charged 3.50 euros at night in City tax (nothing to do with them directly) but it is a complete joke.

I only stayed here 1 night, but was very good the staff were friendly, the room and bathroom were very clean. It was a short walk from public transport and easy to get to the main attractions ETC. It was easy enough to get to by bus from the airport too.

I don't know if the hostel staff can control it, but the thing is that the place is full of drunk people shouting and having party EVERY NIGHT, ALL THE TIME. When I go to the room by night I want to sleep, but at Dream hostel is not possible.

More over, no one cleaned our room in 4 nights... Considering the price we paid (75€ per night), I think that cleaning at lest once was expectable.

🚨🚨🚨Not safe for women. 🚨🚨🚨

This hostel charged extra for all-female dorm rooms and then assigned last minute male guests to those dorms rather than turn them away. They also did not have enough towels for everyone staying there, did not have AC or fans during a heat wave, and did not have an elevator or ample outlets.

⚠️They promised me a refund and then refused to issue it.⚠️ do not stay here.

The hostel is ok, but I had a huge problem with the washing machine. You can stop the process. If you started, you will need to wait 2 hours and a half to get your own clothes back. There was no warning about this. I didn't know that the soup wasn't automatically made by the machine. So I started just with water and I had to wait 2h35 to get them back.

I ended up in this hostel(my first time in a hostel ever) as my plane was delayed and I couldn't catch my last train.
I understand that it is a budget hostel.I do take everything into consideration but that smell makes it almost impossible to sleep.
Once you opened the door, the incredibly strong odour smell(like sweaty socks and french cheese together) hit you right away.I arrived at 1am and I had to leave at 5am.Honestly,I've never experienced anything like it before. It wasn't from people who were sleeping in as there was only 1 person in the room. The receptionist (very nice and friendly) tried to blame the left out laundry but it wasn't the case. When I asked him if this smell is on each floor,he just quietly agreed.
It is a shame because everything else was OK,nothing to be impressed or disappointed about.I suggest, call them or write them an email before you book,if they fix that bad smell.

Hotel was very close to train station so very useful for me. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful and spoke great English. The room was smart enough but could have done with cleaning out before we got there as the floor hadn't being swept. Reasonably priced and a good sized community room down in the cellar. Would stay again in this hostel however Bratislava is a place I don't plan on visiting again.
Overall good experience of the hostel

Good hostel to stay in if you're interrailing/ travelling with friends. I stayed in a private 4-bed room with my friends here. The location isn't that central but it's an easily commutable distance so still good. It's clean and convenient, nice downstairs area with kitchen and public space. Staff lovely and friendly. Room was clean, beds not too comfy but it's what you expect for the price, but other than that was good. The bathrooms were very clean and nice, cleaned often and good size. Recommend for people interrailing/ travelling.

Despite booking several rooms (51 beds) this hostel cancelled half of the rooms just one week prior to arrival. Their reason was piping/flood issues, however when checked in, we learned that they actually replaced part of our booking with another larger group with a longer stay.
This is unaceptable!
Additionally, the rooms in 1st floor had a serious bedbug infestation, confirmed with their staff who had to move part of our group 5km away.
Otherwise a newly renovated place with helpful staff and close to city center, on a quiet street (by the way the streets are very narrow and parking of buses is not possible).

Dear guests, we are incredibly sorry for all the complications and inconveniences during your stay with us. We are always trying to do our best and to help our guest, even in such unfortunate situations like this. We really understand that you are not happy with your stay in our hostel, but some information in your complaint is not correct. As you said, we were forced to cancel 18 beds from your reservation and move these people to other hostel due to a serious technical issue. This was a matter of an urgency that happened couple of days before your arrival (while both the bookings were in place for couple of months) and we would not have opted to do it if there was another way of dealing with it. As we explained to you via email, we have not replaced your booking with another larger group. You were supposed be accommodated as two groups at the same time, as we are a quite big hostel, however, due to the difficulties we had to take according measures and move couple of people to guarantee both comfort and safety of all the guests. Immediately after we were informed about problem with bed bugs in one room we took following measures to have it taken care of completely and we have done everything we could in our best abilities to help to make the situation better for you. We understand and apologise if it was not sufficient. Please accept our sincere apologies for all the inconveniences once again. We appreciate your great level of understanding at this matter and truly hope you will give us another chance to make this up to you at some time in the future.
