Stayed here in December and went back again in January. Clean rooms, inexpensive and in a great location. Friendly staff. Very good base to explore Bratislava from and most bars, restaurants etc. are all in easy walking distance. Will be staying here again.

The room, location, receptionists were excellent, but the maid (Zuzana) spoiled the whole stay with her very stupid comments after we checked out. She knew we were still at the reception but never realized that one of us is Slovak... Next time, dear Zuzana, keep your comments for yourself unless the guests are gone. And once again, big thanks to the receptionists, good job!

The hotel is situated in a beautiful location in the old town.
The room looks at an interior space in a building with almost no air. At the same time there is no air conditioner. And worst - below the hotel there is a erotic massage club and streeptease bat from which you hear aggressive noise until 5 am, incl. breaking windows, quarrels, etc.

Price, location and staff are ok.

97 steps to climb to the room in the attic, cigarette smoke in the reception area, and noise from the street at 2, 3 AM can be forgiven considering the low price.

Bedbugs / mosquitoes are a deal breaker. I was bitten on my face, neck, shoulders, legs, knees, and back.

Avoid at all, price until management fix this problem. The place could easily earn a 3 or even 4 star if not for the issue.

I hate to be so blunt in the description/title, however, apart from the extremely friendly recptionist (Valeria?????), run a mile, please. Too many stairs with NO lift (Yankee speak = elavator LOL). Also, VERY noisy. It may be a cheaply peiced place to stay but then again, you get what you pay for.

So if you are aged between 18 and 30 then this noisy, roudy, stair infested place is just for you. As a seasoned traveller, I love supporting small independant place over the large chains....... never again this one.

Over and out.

Very well located. Few minutes walk from all the touristic places. Somehow clean as well. But there is no elevator with more than 150 stairs. Also as it is in the middle of center, it is very noisy and difficult to sleep at night.

This "hotel" is the worst ever for me..Firstly,fabulous location but that's it.... Our room was on top floor with sloping attic roofing virtually touching the top of your bed head.So if you rose from your sleep quickly you bang your head on the sloping roof.Toilets and shower rooms were on opposite sides from the rooms and were shared by other room occupants..We were on the 4th floor,...reception is on the 3rd floor over the Thai Massage parlour.4 flights of steep stairs to our rooms means it's a definite no go for anybody remotely unfit...Their is no eating facilities, just basic room only, however you are right in the middle of bars shops ,restaurants, etc. One of our rooms was cleaned once in a 3 night stay..Bratislava at first glance is seedy, but the architecture is quite stunning with beautiful churches, seemingly on every corner. The castle and St Martin's cathedral are superb and we had a day out to Vienna,Approx 1 hour on the train costing 14 euros return...Loads of bars that seem scruffy, but many are really quaint inside.,however some are disgusting..Get a decent hotel and you are off to a good start and quite an enjoyable break will be had..Pity we got lumbered with the old city hotel

The location is great! It's in the pedestrian-only part of historic old town, and just steps from St. Michael's Gate and the Old City Hall. The bad news is that reception is at the very top of a four-story flight of stairs with narrow treads on the corners. There is no elevator. Not good for the elderly. There are several other businesses located in this old building, which has a glass-covered light-well and balconies around the well-lit atrium. I would call this budget-plus. Our room was clean, spacious, and well- lit, although the bathroom was slightly cramped (it was just OK-not horrible). The clerk was exceptionally helpful, and gave us directions to a place where we could park our car free and safely, for as long as we wanted. It was about a 5 minute walk, and there are parking garages closer, but this was FREE. :) There are many fine restaurants just seconds from the front door.

We booked the hotel as it was central , just a couple of problems they dont take visa cards etc to pay for booking only cash which can be a problem also no lift and the stairs are leathal if you have dodgy knees , the rooms are clean and massive , but if your in the frontrooms by the main walkway the noise at night after 2pm is shocking as the windows are like tissue paper and you hear everyone singing and shouting as they leave and enter the bars and clubs , so request another room , apart from that it fine

Ok, yes, there are a lot of stairs..
However, the room was lovely and clean; comfortable and quiet considering you are smack in the middle of the old town. Staff were helpful and friendly. As long as your knees are good, just consider the stairs as a way of burning off all the beer!
