We stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of our trip to Hungary. The service at the hotel was very nice and friendly, especially the woman who checked us in and the man who worked at the front desk later in the evening. The room was big and the bed was large and comfortable. It had a mini-fridge which...

My husband and I stayed over a weekend at the Allegro. The Saturday coincided with the 2011 wine vintage being gathered. Our wonderful host Agnes invited us to join her family collecting grapes on their vineyard. We had a most extraordinary day and met such interesting and talented people. The highlight of our entire Hungarian trip was eating goulash prepared...

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Allegro in the centre of beautiful Tihany. Our host and staff could not have been more welcoming and friendly. The owner has a keen interest in Hungarian history and music.

Owner is helpfulness herself (in Hungarian, English and German); adequate rooms; good breakfast (though cooked is extra). Free parking outside. Room prices start at E101/night, which seems a lot in Hungary for a single person. Quiet and safe, though. No other meals, but pleasant restaurant 5 mins walk up the street towards the church: excellent traditional food, cooked to order,...

Friendly and helpful owner and staff. Comfortable room with a superb view. Swimming pool and high level garden was wonderful at the end of a hot day. Excellent breakfast. The weather was very hot when we were there and we enjoyed going for early morning walks round the lakes and hills, coming back for breakfast at about 9.45.

After reading the reviews here, we decided to book the Allegro as opposed to another hotel in Tihany. The hotel is very central within the town and everything is within a few minutes walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times and we got useful information on places to eat from them. We also rented bicycles from...

It is an easy task to join with all the others who have reviewed this lovely property. It is the perfect place to stay in Tihany. Though the rooms were superior, the breakfast plentiful, the grounds lovely, the element that makes the Allegro is the personal service from the top management to the lowest staff member. Everything about my stay...

We arrived late after taking a train from Croatia, and the staff was extremely helpful. They took our bags up to our room and poured us a complimentary glass of wine to help us relax after our long journey. The staff spoke English very well and were extremely helpful the entire stay. The room was spacious and had a mini...

My wife and I celebrated a beautiful honeymoon at the hotel for a week. We were very happy with it. Rooms: The room we got was spotless and clean. The size was just right, with nice furniture and a bathroom. I called ahead and spoke with the staff to inform them that we were going on a honeymoon and we...

I had a wonderful stay at the Allegro in September 2010. Located in the middle of Tihany village, the Allegro is the perfect base for exploring the nearby Benedictine Abbey and planning longer walks across the peninsula. I could not fault the facilities; the breakfast area and lobby are smart and clean, and there are many interesting historical pictures on...
