We have been planning to visit this hotel with the family for years. This year we finally managed to find a suitable date during the autumn holidays. Unfortunately, three days before our departure, my little girl got chicken pox, so we couldn't go because it's a highly contagious disease (it affects other people, just like covid). The hotel did not offer any guest-friendly options, no matter how hard we tried. We could not rebook for another date and we could not use the money we had already paid later, which was a great loss to us, besides the fact that we had spent our holiday ill. We will definitely never visit this place. I have never experienced such inflexibility, either in Hungary or abroad, especially not in the last year and a half.
We stayed 2 nights at this hotel. The rooms are a little outdated (furniture wise), but still OK. Walls a little thin, so in case your bedroom is next to someones bathroom then you can hear the noises. We had the half-board option with our stay. The food was very good and much to choose from. We would definitely recommend this hotel, especially for the price they offer.
This hotel is about 12km from the train station. A taxi ride (recommended by the hotel when asked about taxi vs public transport) costed about 3400HUF in September 2019 and was very pleasant. Communication with the hotel was excellent and even though we could only check-in at 19:30, they delivered that day's dinner directly to our room, occasionally speaking some Slovak to us, too! (I'm Slovakian) This customer-staff relationship continued at the hotel restaurant and I found it very welcoming and heartwarming. The receptionist lady showed us directly to our room. It was comfortable, clean and well furnished, including some cooking and eating equipment in the kitchen. The reason for my 4 stars is the lack of any dishwashing detergents and shampoos. There was a very watered-down soap in the bathroom, which was hard to really clean with. We booked a package with 1 day free full day spa ticket at a neighbouring hotel and got our voucher without any problems. In the package, there was also a 10% discount for the Cave Baths. This turned out not to be valid for a 4 hours ticket, for which you don't get any discount. This discount is only for a full day ticket, so I can't comment on how the hotels deliver on that promise. This was all-around very nice experience and even despite the lack of hygienic supplemets, it was great and I would totally recommend this hotel.…
We tried only the restaurant inside the hotel, named Bonfini. The food is delicious, continental kitchen and quite a big portion. It’s not the cheapest option, but it worth the dinner. The staff was kind, service was fast, but it’s not a surprise since we were there in the off-season on a weekday, therefore it wasn’t crowded.
Very nice and friendly place. Good food and ambiance durring breakfast and diner. Close to the cave bath and garden. If you wanna stay for some days in Tapolcsa do not hesitate to book here and to enjoy the pleasent atmosphere of the hotel.
We absolutely loved staying in this hotel. The hotel is in a nice and peaceful area of the town. The cave bath is just 10 mins away, but it took us way longer to get there because you have to walk through a beautiful park where you just have to stop and take a look around! There's just a lot to see. Our room was very clean and the bed was quite comfortable. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the jacuzzi for as long as we wanted to because there were just too many people for such a small jacuzzi, they also have a great sauna too, we enjoyed it very much. We are definitely coming back whenever we will have the chance to.
The hotel is situated in a lovely green area close to the cave bath. The room is nice and has a charming design. Breakfast is good, however would be nice to have toast. The dinner is lovely and they cook well. Good value for the price. It is a pity the wifi never worked.
Nice rooms, good breakfast. I arrived here for my birthday celebration. I enjoyed very much. My friend, who visited Miskolc in many time before gave me a Miskolc Pass Tourist Card for three days for my birtday, so we could discover the whole town for free. Miskolctapolca is a district of Miskolc. We could vent to the Cave Bath for free. We vent to Diósgyőr Castle, went to Lillafured for free, and what's more, we visited cellars at Avas Hill in the city center. Our only problem was that we could not buy the Miskolc Pass at the hotel, we had to go to the city center for buy this - so we had to pay for the public transport at one time.
We stayed for 4 nights in this cozy hotel. The food is excellent and the menu for lunch, even it's a bit expensive, is also amazing!! They hace a small but quite nice spa and the service from the staff is excellent!! Always trying to make the customer happy!!
The hotel is situated 5-10 minutes walk from the Cave Baths. We booked our room from the hotels website where you can purchase different packages. The room was ok : clean , fair size bathroom and room. The hotels restaurant was really nice , we had half board in our package , food was really tasty and plenty. At dinner first night we received a glass of champagne . No drinks where included in the meal , nobody asked us if we want something to drink, so I went to the bar and asked for a juice and a beer (only 1 kind of bear available from the barrel).well....I don't know for how long that barrel was opened but that was the worst beer I ever drunk..it tasted like sparkling water with sugar. After finishing the meal we where heading to our room when the waiter asked if he could add the juice and beers price to the room.I said of course. But than he insisted to pay him now , despite that I told him that I haven't got any cash on me.So...I had to go to my room and bring him the money.(he said that the system freezed and that I have to pay now). So overall : no menu , no check , no prices at the fridge or anywhere else , he said a price and I had to pay him right now ..he couldn't added to the rooms rate ..very unprofessional. Despite this little negative experience everything was all right.…
