Pleasant, family style hotel in beautiful surroundings. The interior design is elegant, the exterior areas are well maintained. Everywhere is very cleaning. The staff is very nice and polite. The food and drink supply can be said to be average. Overall, a very pleasant, recommendable hotel.
We stayed 2 nights at Calimbra in middle of september. Our room was on the 2nd floor and it was huge. Very spacious with 2 balconies. We loved the room. The wellness are is nice, but the main pool is not very inviting due to its (very) cold water. Outside pool we could not try it was already too cold for that. Saunas were good, so was the "bubbly" pool. Very nice wellness area, lots of confy chairs and beds to choose from. Food was excellent : great choice, tasty food. We loved it. The only negative thing we can say is the poor choice of Hungarian cable channels and that our TV was sort of defective. (big vertical line on the right side of the tv) Another annoying thing was the non working ventillation in the bathroom. Other than this we really had a pleasant time. Will come back.…
Pros: * Nice pools and spa. * Helpful staff, speak English well. * Private and safe parking. * The rooms are large and pleasant. The balcony is very nice. * Breakfast was very good, with a wide variety. Cons: * Airconditioning was poor (in both rooms we were occupying). We asked for someone to take a look, but were told to wait for next day (after we checked out...). * A car is a must. The hotel is on a hill and there's not much to do within a walking distance.
No wifi. Cable channels are a disaster. Nothing to watch. Stayed 7 days looking how other people are leaving every day a got stocked in the part of the hotel with no view and balcony. Great way to say thank you for extended stay.
We were to have a high school alumni party, rented a separate room and buffet food there, the food was very good (i do not understand some other comments regarding food, it was perfect.) And the hotel was absolutely OK if we took our own home made drinks. The room was perfect, clean, good view, etc. The personnel is very friendly.
We stay at the hotel for three nights during traveling around. Nice clean hotel the room was large but had no balcony which we had booked but as the hotel was full couldn’t change so for us we were disappointed as we like to sit out in the evening. Pool area and spa was very good . Dressing gown and towels provided. We stayed half board and it was good .
Until now, there is only one domestic hotel (from at least twenty) where I can only give positive ratings. Let's look in line: 1. Hotel: a fun modern building, there is a view from the Reception to the wellness, a cozy bar next tot he restaurant, a nice Lobby, an open fire in the evening. 2. Room: The room is enough large and there is a separate sofa, a tastefully smelled "swan" bed with a welcome candy, a large numeral vault, a bathtub in the bathroom, a mini shampoo and shower baths (instead of the dull pumpkin), ashtray cleansed on the balcony (!), daily cleaning. 3. Wellness / Massage: sufficient sun loungers, canopy beds, several different temperature saunas, excellent sauna master, professional sauna seans, the male masseur is simply perfect. Free tea delivery in the afternoon. 4. Catering: The breakfast is more than a generous choice, several kinds of pastries and sweet cakes, we do not drink alcohol, but champagne is for breakfast in the price. Dinner was a Swedish table both evening. There are three types of soup selection, several types of appetizers, three main courses and fine desserts. The servant was not impudent when we only asked for a jug of lemon-iced jug water. 5. Staff: We met polite and helpful staff everywhere. Maybe it's just a tiny negative. After dinner, there is no program organized by the hotel. Practically, after dinner, there is nothing to do. (We resolved to have a HOBO concert on Friday in Miskolc, while on Saturday we choosed the Cinema Palace.) In summary, the hotel is perfect. I recommend it in all respects with a good heart. Tökéletes szálloda, tökéletes hétvége! Idáig egyetlen hazai szálloda, (legkevesebb húsz közül) ahol csak és kizárólag pozitív minősítéseket tudok adni. Nézzük sorjában: 1. Szálloda: vidám modern épület, a Recepcióról átlátás a wellnessbe, az étterem mellett kényelmes bár, hangulatos Lobby, este begyújtott kandalló. 2. Szoba: a szoba hatalmas és külön sofa is van benne, ízlésesen megvetett „hattyús” ágy üdvözlő cukorkával, nagy számkódos trezor, kád a fürdőszobában, mini sampon és tusfürdők (az unalmas pumpás helyett), az erkélyen kitisztított hamutányér(!), naponta takarítás. 3. A wellness/masszázs: elegendő nyugágyak, baldachinos ágyak, több különböző hőmérsékletű szauna, kiváló szauna mester, profi szauna szeánszok, a férfi masszőr egyszerűen tökéletes. Ingyenes tea kínálás délután. 4. (Mi megoldottuk, Miskolcon pénteken HOBO koncerten voltunk, míg szombaton a Cinema Palace választottuk.) Összefoglalva, tökéletes a szálloda. Minden szempontból jó szívvel ajánlom.…
In a few words i think this was the most unexpected surprise to see such big and nice and comfortable and clean rooms. Nothing bad to say! You can enjoy the swimming pool, great view and nice people. Breakfast was quite good! Overall i think it is worth it!
I mean wasn't entirely bad but the dinner was simply a disaster. Cold and not much to choose from. While the whole stay it was raining there was nothing to do the open pool was closed of course and even the cave bath isn't on the top of their game.
Passing through Miskolc, chose this hotel as it was the highest priced in the area with the most facilities (sauna, steam room, pool, etc) and we assumed it would be the best available. We booked a single double bed, but upon arrival we were sent to a twin room. We asked to be moved, but was requested that we spend another 22 euros to change to the room we initially paid for. We refused out of principle. The room was fine, a bit dated but clean, not enough towels and the single beds were smaller than the one I had in halls in university (didn't think that was possible). We went to the restaurant which should be open until 10pm. We got there at 9 and were told we could only use the bar (which had no snacks) so I ended up eating bags of crisps from the car for dinner. The next morning we went to use the spa facilities. It states that these are open from 8am. We arrived at 8:30am. Two of the 3 saunas were off, so was the steam room. The one sauna that was on stated 65-85C, but was at 45 for the 15-20 minutes we spent in there. The changing rooms were falling apart with only one out of 4 cubicles having an aligned door that actually shut. Breakfast was really good, everything was fresh and even had champagne available. Overall pretty poor stay, not worth the money. Staff could speak better english too. Also all of the signs around the hotel are only in Hungarian. Given that we stayed there for a spa day and couldn't really use any of the spa facilities, I must give this a 2 out of 5.…
