We arrived after a 24 hour traveling day and was treated with a glass of champagne! Great start! Such an easy drive to Hévíz in the transfer taxi but for a two hour trip worth it. Probably would hire a car if we came back to go to surrounding districts. Happy to walk everywhere this time in the warm sun. We came across a market day on Thursday and the local shops and swim at the Lake were enough to keep us busy for a week. The apartment was clean and a good size, being quiet and peaceful at night. It has a warm spa pool in the complex and we booked an hour long massage each which was superb. Everything seemed to be on hand and walking distance to town. Great holiday place! Go to the ABC market up the hill for fresh chicken meat or mince otherwise you’ll be stuck buying salami type goods down the hill at the co-op (only go for a look); it has a mini mall attached. Not great English spoken in town but enough to get us food and shop. We did sit waiting for service at a large ‘pub’ and felt ignored but a local gave the waiter a nod about us sitting there and finally attended us. Good meals eating out. Would visit again.…
Be prepared to be treated as a number, not as a person. Late check-out will be sanctioned by an extra fee of 9.000 Huf with no right of appeal! Breakfast not refunded, either. Tourism here is seen as industrial production, not personal service.
Spacious apartment with small kitchen. Comfortable beds. Very nice spa, can be used free of charge. 1,1 km walking distance to the center of the town and lake Heviz. Can be rekommended for families and couples. Apartment would need some renovation. Ask for remote control for air condition from the reception.
We liked the location of the hotel, even though it was a little walking up to the hill. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Due to the cool weather at the time of stay, we were actually very lucky, because the hotel does not have the air-condition in the rooms. Bed was not comfortable at all, had to ask for a roll-away bed. Nice bathroom, but no place where to put your bathing stuff, some shelves would be helpful.
We spent Christmas time in Hévíz and we stayed one week in this little hotel. I think there weren't so much tourists although parking was full every evening. Anyway, in the whole city it was peaceful atmoshpere (24th - 26th almost everything closed) and this hotel is situated on the hill, a few minutes walk from the center. (you don't need a map in Hévíz)Staff was very young but very friendly, although they don't speak much english. Everything was clean and there's a free use of little gym, saunas and pools. There are some Coops around the city but the best selection is in that which is located in the nearest roundabout up in the hill, very near this hotel. We ate a couple of times their breakfast but for lunch / dinner we recommend to go down to the center or call pizza from the restaurant near. We also ate once in the other RCI's place and checked all others, too but in our minds we chosed the best one!…
