Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An old apartment, modified in hotel rooms, in an old house, neglected staircase, Room with shower (smells awful) and toilet in the room (a small closet with door). Old wooden door (does not seal at all), old wooden windows (wind blows and the cold blows through them). The heating is done with an old air conditioner, which apart from not being able to cope, sounds all night like a broken grinder, at an outside temperature of 0 degrees, I slept dressed in 18 degrees. Breakfast in the room, 2 boiled eggs, 1 tea, 1 coffee, 2 glasses of juice, 4 slices of bread, 2 yogurts, 4 slices of salami and 4 pieces of cheese, Any hostel at half price have much better conditions. A joke in the heart of Budapest. Sin.

I was due to visit Balance Home for a weeks back in March 2020. Due to COVID and lockdowns, I could not go. I have been constantly messaging this hotel with absolutely no reply since. I have asked to cancel, I have asked to move my booking until when I can go, they have not even bothered to message me back and now I have lost out on money. Appalling! Even If I couldn't get my money back, at least tell me.

Perfect location perfect host My husband and I stayed at Balance home for 3 night .. wow what a view! Looking Straight out to the Danube, across from freedom monument and next to the Elizabeth bridge and when the sun sets and the lights come on it’s a real wow moment! Do not judge a book by its cover .. as there is work happening to quietly restore this fabulously old building but as soon as you walk through the door of this mini hotel situated on the first floor nothing else matters, along with its stunning views you are within walking distance of everything and anything , breakfast was delicious and delivered to our room , our fabulous host Andrèa was so very helpful from the onset very quick to respond to emails and recommended some fabulous restaurants she also insisted on being available 24/7 if needed . As in most of Europe the room is very compact it has a quirky feel having the shower in the corner of the room , the bed is incredibly comfortable and we would absolutely recommended anyone travelling to Budapest to stay at Balance home ... I know we will be back !

We spent 3 nights on Balance Home. The room is well decorated with the most amazing view of the city and Danube. Every morning we enjoyed a delicious healthy breakfast in our room in front of the window ( with the amazing view). Also, is close to metro stations and at the center of the city.

I grabbed a room at Balance Home last minute at about £40 for me and my partner. We weren't expecting much at this price and as it's in a great location we were really thinking it might be quite budget to be so low in price. We were pleasantly surprised. The man messaged and called with directions and check in time, offered to help with bags and asked if we wanted a drink on arrival. Very friendly. The room is quite basic but the air conditioning is great and the rooms are clean and tidy. It feels very safe and seems to be such great value for money. Only complaint I could even come close to making is that the bed is a little solid. Otherwise I would recommend highly!

We stayed for 1 night in June. The room was very well presented, with a fantastic view of the Danube. Included a tasty continental breakfast. Staff were very helpful, allowed us to store bags after checkout so we were free to roam the city before flying home, and even printed off our e-boarding passes!

First of all i would like to give a big thanks to Vera for her kindness, generosity and professionalism i myself worked as a receptionist and i still work in the hotel business and i am happy to tell you guys that this hotel is perefect for a nice couple getaway, the room is big, well decorated and the shower is modern, relaxing and of course romantic as it is inside the room, you will find a little touch from the hotel as they always leave something special, we found chocolate, meringue and biscuits in the room plus i told vera about my partner's birthday and she was happy to offer me a bottle of sweet wine ♡ she was always in contact and when we checked in she gave us all the information needed about the city. I recommend this place!
