Nice and comfortable place in the heart of the city plus friendly and helpful staff…the perfect combination for a city hostel. Easy to find, clean and big kitchen. The room I stayed in was a bit noisy but ok.

I have been there in winter, there were no heating problem or hot--water on showers. Hostel is just in middle of city centre.Very close to one bridges which right in front of the Buda Statue. They have nice small kitchen, open for every one on hostel. You can cook your food here. And last people were really kind, helpful. Wish to visit again !

The Hostel itself was average. The staff kick people out early even though apparently you can chill in the common room. The worst thing about this was that we were kicked out with our bags and it was raining (they also say you can leave your bags until 8pm.) We planned walking quite far around the city and seeing some...

This hostel was a little hard to find. The entrance is actually through a doorway off the street that takes you into a courtyard. The steps are on your right. Ring the buzzer. The staff was nice. There was a little of information available: maps, pamphlets, coupons. The beds were decent. I stayed in the all-female dorm & then had...

Every summer when I go to Budapest I stay at the Base Hostel. The hostel is clean and large, unlike many other hostels I've stayed at worldwide. It is incredibly cheap for non-Hungarians due to the purchasing power of the Euro and other foreign currencies - you would pay maybe 2-3 times as much in London. The central metro station...

We staid here for 4 nights in the private room. The rooms and beds are rather small and not very comfortable, but the hostel itself is cool. There's a big kitchen where you can cook, a living room and a kicker which you can play for free. The staff was always very kind and helpful. Bathrooms are too little for...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
