We didn't get soap, towels were scratchy and when you turn light on at the toilet, you also turn on loud and obnoxious hood - night trip to the toilet was a "wake-up call". But the best thing was broken fluorescent tube - it was slowly blinked all night. And I must not forget the short beds and blankets -...

The hotel is in a walking distance from Keleti station; there is a bus 2 min walk away (no 78) that goes to the Parliament. Our room was very small with a tiny bathroom but it looked not bad. The pillows were very big and thick, actually we couldn't sleep on them and used the other small pillows that were...

We stayed with our kids for two nights at the star city hotel. The rooms were OK and so was the service. Generally fair value for money. It is a long walk from the rail station if you have big bags.

Both my wife & myself have stayed in many City Hotels around the world so know not to expect too much. However we did not expect what we found. Our first room had a view of a three-storey wall!! when I (tongue in cheek) Asked the receptionist "did the room have a view?", I was told that the view was...

Hotel is in walking distance from Keleti train station. Also, its not very far from city park with amusement park, bath and other attractions. City center is easily reached by metro or troleybus. For us, Location near the train station was the bigest plus. The staf was very friendly. The room was ok, though turned towards a busy street and...

Our room was on the 4th floor and corner. We had a spacious room. It was comfortable and quite. My only complain is the pillows. They had hard pillows to sleep on. The hotel is close to the train station and easy to find but far from the main attractions. The metro is as far as the train station if...

It's cheap to book and true enough you don't get any frills, but then you have not paid for them!! We stayed here for a stag weekend, the staff are great, fantastic English, rooms are basic but comfortable and clean with everything you need. The htel bar although basic is open 24 hours and is cheap as is the mini...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
