Stunning 5* Hotel, gorgeous rooms and luxurious Spa! The service was second to none, from the moment we were greeted at the door, to our transfer to the Airport, each and every Staff member exceeded expectations. Special mention to Zachary from the Atrium Brasserie, he was very helpful and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fabulous stay....

This is the second Corinthia hotel I have stayed in and I was definitely not disappointed. The rooms were nice , the Spa was also very nice, good food and pleasant staff. The location was relatively OK for my business dealings and would definitely stay there again. It was also value for money.

This is my fourth stay here over 10yrs. Still a stunning, graceful, meticulously restored old hotel with attention to detail. I attended a conference and was more than impressed with the food and facilities. Breakfast is expensive but to be honest you can eat pretty much everything that any European might wish to eat in any quantity and very high...

Beautiful hotel situated in the heart of Budapest. The room was perfect. The staff are friendly and helpful. We loved the spa facilities and we treated ourselves to some treatments which were amazing. The pool, jacuzzi and sauna was a great place to spend Sunday morning. It's a very classy hotel, and saying that, the extras like drinks and breakfast are...

From walking into the hotel we were made to feel special, the room on the first floor (1106) was spacious and well appointed, the products in...

This was my first time to Budapest and was not sure what to expect. I was extremely impressed by the staff of the hotel regardless of their position. The administrative staff were extremely helpful and could think on their feet. At many hotels staff are only order takers but everyone I interacted with were able to improvise and make decisions....

I stayed at the Corinthia for my 30th birthday and had the best time! The hotel is stunning and very grand, the swimming pool and spa area were great. On arrival we were upgraded to the Executive club which was a great start to my birthday celebrations! I don't have one bad thing to say about the hotel or service....

We had a Fantastic stay at the Corinthia, enjoyed the spa, massage and food at the Bistro. I would really recommend this hotel to people wanting a great experience in Budapest. The hotel is a nice walk (15 minutes from Vaci Utza, which is the street where most of the touristy stuff is, shops, pubs, restaurants etc. This is also...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
First opened in 1896 as the Grand Hotel Royal; a hub for the elite of nineteenth century society, and painstakingly restored to its original glory some hundred years later, the Corinthia Budapest – located in the heart of the city - brings together classic hotel opulence with the finest five-star luxury of modern times. While the gracious frontage, marble floors, sweeping staircase and breathtaking, six-story Atrium preserved from the original building offer glorious hints of a bygone age, the levels of comfort and convenience are all reassuringly up to date.A particular feature is the hotel’s original Royal Spa centre, with 15-metre pool, now extensively refurbished by the current owners to reflect the very best in 21st-century spa luxury while retaining the grandeur of the past. Without doubt the finest hotel in Budapest. Built in classic French Renaissance style, the Grand Royal became a beacon of luxury in the days of Emperor Franz Joseph 1. Designed as a centrepiece of Hungary’s celebrations to mark its first thousand years, the hotel’s grand-style architecture and unrivaled guest facilities were seen as state-of the art for the times. Much of the building was destroyed in the 1956 Hungarian Revolution and despite re-opening in more modest form in the 1960’s, the Grand Royal remained a shadow of its former self until the 1990’s; when new owners Corinthia Hotels gave the green light for an extensive restoration project that would retain the best of the old, while sensitively adding the new. Once restored to its original splendour, the newly named Corinthia Hotel Budapest re-opened its doors, as a five-star luxury property, in 2003. ... more   less
