I went for dinner here with my partner after exploring the Christmas markets. It is a very classy establishment with excellent decor and layout. The waiter was very welcoming and answered all of our questions about local traditions and attractions despite being busy. The sommelier gave us impeccable wine choices for our meals and even gave us lots of information...

Top notch hotel, attentive staff, very good location, clean, efficient. The staff overheard my 9 year old mention that she would love to try the chocolate in Budapest, and the next thing you know, they knock on the door with a plate full of chocolate pastries and truffles. This and the RC in New Orleans are the best in the...

I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and modern. Our suite was divine and located on the top floor with a city view. Every staff member was friendly, engaging, and warm-hearted. Their kindness made all the difference. They are the epitome of Ladies and Gentlemen here. The food at Deak's Street Kitchen was delicious, and the...

What an awesome and fun experience. Our bartender Peter asked us what we liked and didn't like and from our answers created cocktails I've never imagined would work together. Even if you don't stay there go have a drink there. The Kupola lounge in is awesome!

Stayed at the Ritz Carlton Budapest during Christmas for two nights and absolutely loved it. We arrived extremely early in the morning and received early checkin. Bernadette from reception assisted us and she was extremely lovely and helpful. The room was great, quite large and clean. There was no noise whatsoever and every night we slept very well. We had a long weekend in Budapest to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We don't usually go for big hotels preferring smaller ones but for various reasons including a good deal we choose this and couldn't have picked better. From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing. Always saying hello and often using our names ( but not over familiar)....

The most awful experience on Christmas Eve! We have booked this restaurant for Christmas Eve dinner because we wanted a special evening, a real celebration of Christmas. Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest, is housed within a protected historic building, located on Elizabeth Square, with views over St Stephens Basilica. Constructed in 1914 as the headquarters for an Italian insurance company, Adria Palace, the building has seen many incarnations, but today it's open as a luxury property with 170 elegantly appointed rooms and 30 suites. Whilst many of the building's original architectural details have been retained, including elegant statues on the exterior walls, the interiors offer guests a spacious and relaxed contemporary environment, inspired by the cool colours and swirling water of the Danube River. The Ritz-Carlton Club Level is situated on the 8th and 9th floors of the property, allowing guests an elevated experience and an additional sanctuary, with dedicated concierge, plus complimentary food and beverage presentations running throughout the day. Introducing two restaurants and a bar to the Budapest scene, the unrivalled Deak Street Kitchen provides a relaxed and atmospheric environment and serves a variety of Hungarian-inspired dishes, created using local seasonal ingredients, and freshly grilled meat & fish, alongside one of the city's finest selections of indigenous Hungarian wines and beers with an elegant outside terrace overlooking vibrant Fashion Street. The Kupola Lounge, situated beneath the building's iconic stained glass cupola and grand crystal chandelier, is ideally placed for a leisurely farmer's market breakfast or light lunch overlooking the hotel lobby. The Ritz-Carlton, Budapest, also houses a fresh, contemporary bar. Combining sleek finishes with the building's uncovered original architectural columns, the Kupola Bar focuses on serving innovative cocktails in a metropolitan, sophisticated ambiance. ... more   less
