The InterContinental Budapest located on the banks of the Danube River is within easy walking distance of the Chain Bridge, the Parliament building and St. Stephen's Church. Or you can sit at the sidewalk cafe and watch the river traffic, tourists or view the spectacular buildings on the Buda side of the river. The hotel has very comfortable rooms with...

Really amazing views across the Danube to the Buda side with the castle and churches beautifully lit in the evenings. Fluffy pillows (I left mine in the suitcase as it was surplus to requirement) and heavenly mattress. Strong powerful shower as well.

Dispite the fact that Intercontinental hotel is a huge one, the quality of the service is good. The location is excellent. Restaurants are fine, the meal is o.k. Internet is working good. Breakfast is at a nice level. Some improvments can be done in the line of refurbishing. The hotel is a little bit old.

Very nice hotel situated perfectly on the Danube. Our room overlooked the river and sunset and night views of Buda were stunning. Breakfast really good, what you would expect of this quality hotel. The Business Club room was brilliant with food, drink and amenity second to none. Airport transfer was good and location on riverfront near modern shopping centre also...

We are four ladies who regularly have girly city breaks. We've just returned from a fabulous trip to Budapest. What a lovely city! From a seamless and efficient prearranged pick-up at the airport we arrived at the hotel. Everything about the hotel surpassed our expectations, from the bedroom river view to the wonderful staff. Nothing was too much bother -...

Dear roombudYork, Thank you very much for taking your time writing your comment. It is really delighting to read your review through. I especially like that you mention the attentive and well-informed staff ready to be assisting you and the decorative flowers, art pictures and sculptures in the lobby spiced with piano-music. I would be most happy to welcome you...

The big plus about this hotel is it's location....right on the Danube in the town Center. You can walk to most of the main attractions and the metro station is a five minute walk from the hotel. Metro line one takes you to the Szcheny Bsths and Hero's Square for just $7 round trip. But you really should book a...

Although it is a great location, but unfortunately beware of being ripped off. I requested an airport pickup for my midnight arrival from London which had a rate in the local currency. It was 18600 HUF which is equal to around €60. When I was checking out two days later I see on my bill that airport drop off in...

A wonderful location and very friendly staff. Rooms are ok even if a bit smaller than what you can expect from a 5 stars. Restaurant is delicious with a large variety of choices. The spa can be improved as the quality of the massage was below the average to me. In general, I had a very good experience.

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
