Great location on the Danube directly across from the Buda castle. Fortunate to have a spectacular view from my 7th floor giant window, especially at night when all was lit up including the nearby "Chain bridge". Very friendly staff. Awesome breakfast buffet. Short walk to town center with hundreds of restaurants and shops. Easy access and parking. Looking.forward to future...

This Hotel is in a superb location, right on the Danube and great for exploring Budapest. As soon as you enter the staff are helpful and attentive, the rooms are superb & the Beds are so comfortable. Nice bar for a drink, and Breakfast has plenty of choices.

Excellent location, comfortable room, great breakfast. All forms of public transportation nearby. We walked to most places - Christmas Market, City Market, Cafe Kor, Comme Chez Soi. Took the subway or trams all over the city. A very good choice as a place to stay. We did not spend much time in the room, so did not spring for the...

We concluded a river cruise by spending a night at the Intercontinental in Budapest. We found the hotel to be of a very good quality with a great location. The service by the staff was also top notch. Ask for a river view!

This hotel was very nice. It was centrally located right on the Danube. It made it so easy for walking around and looking at the sights. Little pub right across the road that had good food and prices. We walked to one bridge and over to the palace and backs cross the chain bridge to our hotel. While at the...

The Intercontinental is a high-end hotel but the service and quality of everything about this hotel justifies this. We had three amazing days with a suite overlooking the Danube. Suite was pure luxury, breakfast amazing and afternoon tea in the lounge watching the world go by great. Staff could not do enough to help, I simply love this place.

The Intercontinental is located right on the Danube and in close proximity for walking to many places. The hotel itself is comfortable and the complimentary buffet breakfast was wonderful. This is a nice hotel but big and impersonal. The bed was comfortable

This was my third time inBudapest, the second time at the Intercontinental Hotel. The staff was excellent as it was the first time I visited. The location is within walking distance of the downtown shopping area and restaurants...and the view I had this trip was remarkable, overlooking the river and many of the sites.

If you want to go shopping to the nearby Christmas market or stroll the Corso on the banks of the Danube, then this is the place for you! The river views of the palace, the lovely chain bridge or the Gellért cliff are amazing from the west side of this property. The Club Lounge is great and the breakfasts are...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
