Just back from four fantastic days in Budapest staying at Victoria hotel. We had room on 9th floor with spectacular views across the Danube of the Parliament building and the Chain Bridge. All rooms have river views. The hotel is in an excellent location and offers bed and breakfast and free tea in the afternoons. The rooms are modern, well... More

After 4 nights B & B at the Hotel Victoria, we feel so lucky in having chosen to stay there. Budapest is a wonderful city anyway, but the location, the service and the absolutely stunning view from our room taking in the Parliament Building right around to the Chain Bridge (UNESCO World Heritage Site) looking so magical when lit at... We were given a balcony room on the top floor. The view was wonderful even in November but of course it would be even more fantastic in the summer. Would be more comfortable to have chairs and table especially in the summer. Bathroom was very new and very clean. Having kettle in the room was also an added bonus. The... More

The Victoria is a small hotel. All rooms have a great view over Danube river. Across, the Parliament can be seen on the left side, while the Chain Bridges stretches to the other side on the right side. Such an amazing view is rare, I guess. Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
