This hotel is in a quiet location in Buda just north of Erzebet hid(elizebeth bridge) and below Varhegy(castle hill). My room was a reasonable size with tv and tea and coffee making facilities, the air conditioning/heating was fine as was the bathroom/shower.Breakfast is served in a small restaurant room just to the left of the check in desk where a typical...

Booked this hotel for 1 night based on reviews here. To be fair, the hotel is quite cosy, with pleasant staff and decor, and a fairly large room (some of which were being upgraded during my stay). My room was facing the road on the 4th floor, but the windows did little to stop the noise from the road below,...

For a three star hotel, this is a little gem. Located on the Buda side between Elizabeth and Chain Bridges, a 10 minute (uphill) walk will bring you to the beautiful Castle area. The hotel is clean, staff are friendly and rooms are spacious. Our party of 10 stayed three nights over New Year and all agreed that the hotel...

Centrally situated a street away from the Danube on the Buda side of the city, this hotel is clean and comfortable. Unfortunately air con/heating seemed to suck in smoke from the corridors (or possibly other rooms) but other than that the room was fine. The breakfast was simple but did the job. The staff were always on hand should you...

We stayed in the hotel for one night. Reception staff wasn't very communicative. Though I asked for a non-smoking room in the booking form they gave us a smoking room smelling disgustingly. Thus, we asked for a non-smoking room and were given one. Room size is sufficient. Unfortunately, you will not be able to open the windows as they are...

Hotel Orion is located on the Buda side of the city , very close to the Royal Palace just a few minutes away from Elizabeth Bridge, which takes you to the heart of Pest on the other side of the Danube. The rooms at the Orion are modern and look recently refurbished, there is a minibar (very reasonable pricing) and...

Journey Travelled with Easyjet from Luton on Friday 15th December. Journey uneventful, but arrived in fog and cold. Transferred into town on the shared minibus (bookable in the airport lobby) and got dropped off first at the Hotel Orion. Hotel The Hotel is located on the Buda side of the river, between the "Elizabeth" and "Chain" bridges. We stayed in...

We stayed at this hotel from 3 to 7 October. We were given a room at the back (because it was quiet) on the top floor that had a balcony which proved to be a great spot to dry clothes overnight. The balcony looked on to the adjoining church whose bells stopped at 9 pm and didn't start until 7.am....

we chose this hotel having looked at all the reviews of others as we thought it would be quiet - and it was. In a good position - just over a bridge in the older Buda part and easy walking to the rest. rooms were fine, clean. I think they vary in size. Good breakfast with a choice of eggs...

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
