Ambra hotel was good beyond expectations. It was in the center of Budapest, yet it was not noisy. The hotel people were very nice and ready to accommodate us. The room was large enough for two people, with a spacious desk and it was really quiet and comfortable. Sleeping was of very good quality. Breakfast was offered with a selection...

We have just returned from Budapest and spent 3 nights staying at Hotel Ambra. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was basic and quite small, but did have a bottle cooler, kettle and a safe. The bathroom had a shower (no bath) and toiletries were provided. I am not...

Had a great location, nice rooms and friendly staff. Had both air condition and radiators. There was free coffee and tea in the rooms and also all day in the breakfast restaurant. Breakfast could be better. Food that was supposed to be warm, was in fact cold.

This hotel is located perfectly for night life and visiting the highlights in the center. The downside was that for 4 days the elevator did not work and on top of that the airco was not working either, only heating while the weather was really good. If the management was able to fix this I can recommend this place.

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
