Great location, would go back. it was centrally located very close to the market and pedestrian shopping area. Found a very nice restaurant with regional food that was excellent just across the side street of the Market that was not quite "very touristic" and very reasonable. The second meal we had there they had a large group of locals celebrating...

This hotel is one block away from the Danube, one block away from the underground and one block from the central market. There is good shopping and eating very close. The staff is very helpful. The breakfast was okay. Not great. But most buffets are not great. We had a room for a week that was nice and comfortable and...

I had a very pleasant stay from Oct 2nd-7th. I asked for a quiet room and was given 406 on 4th floor. Yes, it was small and had no view, but it was comfortable, well equipped, and kept very tidy. It had a TV/ PC, free safe (you set the code) and shower unit. The air conditioning was included and...

This hotel was in a good location and reasonable for the price. There was a few things that really bugged us about the stay. We had booked a double room with 2 singles, but the beds were pushed together. As we were checking in we were told we were getting a room upgrade which wasn't true. The breakfast was fairly...

We stayed here for 3 nights and found the hotel to be in a really good location, only 1 minute walk from tram and metro and just off of Vaci utca. The staff were all really friendly and happy to chat and offer local advice. Also, all spoke good English which was really helpful. The hotel room was large and...

We had a very enjoyable 4-day stay in this hotel. The highlights are the location (very close to lively pedestrian Vaci str) and the staff (always friendly, speaking very good English, always ready to help). It is possible to make restaurant bookings or buy a ticket for a river cruise at the front desk. Rooms are decent, clean and well-furnished,...

Recently returned from a 3 night trip in Budapest staying at the Residence Baron Hotel. Great stay, hotel location is perfect, just around the corner from the Danube river, and all key sights. Thoroughly recommend anyone staying here. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice. Staff are really great, more than happy to assist with any queries, make restaurant...

We have stayed here several times as it is so convenient for the trams, the metro, the river, the Gellert baths and for lots of good eateries in the area as well as being right by the Post Office and at the Fovam Ter end of Vaci Street. The rooms are a bit on the small side but they are...

A real gem for the price. Set in a quiet side road but two minutes from the end of the lively Vaci Utca with good restaurants and shops and the central market. All the main sites are within walking distance. Particularly Gellert Hill and baths which are a short walk across the bridge. My single room was comfortably and well...

I like to see different hotels when I travel around to see if I can find one that is better then the last one but for the price this can not be beat ! I had the smallest room and there was still plenty of space like a little mini house !

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
