Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Location was good, good for couples or friends, not secure for children. you can hear all the voices in the room. if you travel in cold season, make sure that there is warm enough in room. we made a reservation from their site, we had a tiny little room. if you make reservation from booking, there are other big rooms.

The best thing going for this property is it's location! About a 35 minute ride from the airport by cab, this property is located within walking distance of connections you want in Budapest. You are 1/2 block from the Oktogon Metro Station, 1/2 block from the City Bus Line #105 (which takes you directly to the Funicular which gives you direct access to Buda Castle), 1/2 block to a full service grocery store, and 2 blocks to the Hop On, Hop Off stops. The rooms are adequate in size. However, read the fine print regarding air conditioning - the room description states the rooms are air conditioned, but the fine print states for an additional charge. Breakfast is also available at an additional charge if you wish - but with the grocery store so close it is really not necessary since there are small refrigerators in each room.

Very nice guesthouse with good location close to center... room was very clean and totally clever sized and stuffed with own tv and fridge. There was only one problem with bad that was smaller and older for 2 people ... it was 1.8m width but the corners was little but fally so i feel like falling from it. Overally i highly recommend this hotel.

Pros > Location is great > Rooms a decent size > Clean bathroom with working shower > Shared kitchen and small dining area with everything you would need > There is a lift, it’s small and very old but it works > Owner easy to contact prior to visit (through booking.com) > Spa shop just down the block, 2minutes away. Cons > On 5th floor of building > Some of our group had very hard uncomfortable beds. > Wifi very inconsistent, although almost every bar and restaurant has wifi so it wasn't much of an issue Tips > If you book a double or twin room, make sure you contact them before hand as some rooms are doubles and some are twins (rather than being ‘changeable, as many are) so you cannot guarantee which you will get unless you ask. > Not manned 24/7 so make sure you contact the owner before hand and tell them when you’re due to arrive

The owner is a nice, welcoming man who was very helpful. The room was en suite but pretty standard and there were good kitchen facilities. It is decent value for money and in a great location near the city centre, only a short walk away from the nearest metro station. Only problem was the lack of/poor quality of air conditioning as the rooms were pretty hot. Overall very satisfied.

Overall, it is a good house for staying 4/5 days! The staff is very kind and gentle...however, I think the ratio quality/price is low considering breakfast as well! Wi-Fi connection was not that good unfortunately...

It is quite central, but not quiet. Great value for money though. We didn't want anything fancy. The room with the 2 beds is small, but the beds are okay. They cleaned the bathroom almost every day, I don't know about the room. Also, there is noise from the outside, because the tram starts early.

Quick review of main things in the hotel that I like to know when I travel. We went in September for a week. Positives - Brilliant location, right next to all the shops, bars, trams .. everything really. Amazingly friendly staff, made us feel very welcome. Good range of cooking facilitates and dinning area, also right next door to two shops for cheap food. Free good quality WiFi Lift - really helps as it's on the 5th floor. Room size was adequate. Good size wardrobe. Negatives - Not manned 24hour - had to ring the owner on our mobile to gain access as he was not there. Bed was not a real bed ... was more like a caravan storage bed ... not good for sleep. Bathroom was odd... there was a massive step to the shower and toilet which on a tile floor was quite slippery and dangerous. Lift is quite small if your scared of them. No room noise insulation, can literally hear everything!! No one came to change the bedding or towels ... 7 days! Just a note about Budapest ... Get a travel card ... they cost about £12 for 7 days (other options too) and is well worth it. You can use them on trams, trains, buses, 3 boats and metro. We bought ours to cover 5 days and saved so much money as they are very useful.

I was in this hostel at least 10 times in the last 18 years and I am always returning to it mainly because of the very friendly atmosphere and its excellent location. The owner Mr. Hershcovici does everything he can in order to make his guests stay as comfortable as possible and from all my previous visits, as well as from my recent one, I know that no reasonable request from the part of his guests remains unanswered. The place is modest but very clean and equipped with everything a hostel can offer. The wifi is also very fast and free of surcharges. Despite of its central location the double glazed windows are muting very well the traffic noises while on the other hand it has excellent public transportation. Another advantage to my view is that this hostel is not in the area where tourist traps are dominating and there are plenty of good restaurants in the vicinity. Not to mention that it is 2 minutes walk from the very popular Liszt Ferenc square. Highly recommended!
