We like the overall service of the hotel, especially the friendly staff and amazing food. The location is very convenient, easy to walk around the main attractions of the city. Our main purpose for the trip is a spa break, but we found the spa space is a bit limited comparing to the size of the hotel. There is only one small jacuzzi, one sauna and one steam room. The jacuzzi were always full from 9 am to 9 pm...
I adored this hotel. I have a lot of respect for the fact that they've really committed to a theme, and even if that means it's a bit ostentatious and tacky in places, I think it's all the more charming for it! It was such a relief to stay somewhere with a bit of personality, no beige, no grey, just a gorgeous building with some mad decor. Spectacular effort! Moreover it was 5* in all the places that it mattered: the staff could not do enough, they were so lovely and so helpful, they went out of their way to make it a really pleasant stay. The breakfast is first class, I don't know what more you would want from it, one of the best I've had. The spa is small but immaculate. The building is beautiful. The entire hotel is spotlessly clean. And the rooms are really well insulated, I couldn't hear any noise from the street or from other guests, really peaceful and quiet. Ultimately, I felt like this hotel was a terrific bargain, if you're the sort of person who is intolerant to a bit of fun decor, spend a bit more and go somewhere really high end, but I loved it here, a 5* customer experience for half the price. Thank you.…
It's interesting to see how Mystery Hotel changes over time - there was always something new each time I visited it. Breakfast could include more vegan options as the only ones available are quite limited for the price (three types of veggies, grilled veggies/mushrooms, fruits, oats, almond milk).
We stayed 3 nights at the Mystery Hotel - you know when you arrive to see a red carpet and chandeliers that you're in for a treat! The check in staff were lovely, and the lift took us to our room on the 1st floor. Room 105 was really plush, with burgandy velvet curtains and cushions - the bed was comfy and the shower was ace! The best rainfall shower I've ever used. There is a mini bar/fridge, a Nespresso coffee machine, and toiletries, along with robes/slippers to use in the Spa. Breakfast was superb, with a range of cooked and continental selections, and fruit and yoghurts etc. Scrambled egg and smoked salmon every morning was very decadent! We had cocktails and dinner on our 1st night, and we must make a special mention of Laszlo, who was so friendly and made our dining experience great. The porcini mushroom Risotto with Butterfish was absolutely delicious - a stand out meal during our stay in Budapest. The Great Hall is beautiful, and a lovely space to sit and drink cocktails and then enjoy a meal. All the staff were helpful and friendly. We would definitely return to the Mystery Hotel, and cannot recommend it highly enough. The location is great for Heroes Square in one direction, and Parliament and the river in the other - close to bus stops and the Metro. 5 minutes up the road in a straight line is a great Italian Restaurant (Pasta Bazar) which is definitely worth a visit. Special thanks to the Housekeeping staff who kept our room spotlessly clean and topped up toiletries and coffee as needed. Thank you Mystery Hotel - you were wonderful :)…
We stayed here for our wedding anniversary and absolutely loved the hotel. It had wonderful charm and the attention to detail in everything was stunning. The room was lovely and spacious with a fantastic bathroom with huge shower. All the amenities you would expect for a nice hotel. Breakfast was among the best buffets I have had in a hotel with everything you could want in a continental breakfast. Even Prosecco if you're that way inclined. Location was great, the street was quiet but also close enough to walk to attractions and transport. Roof bar was also nice for a drink. The wife would say it was missing a dressing table. I can highly recommend this hotel and if I ever came back to Budapest this would be the place I book.
We loved the Mystery Hotel! We had originally planned to stay two nights, but extended to four. The decor is so cool, the little spa area is beautiful, and the service was great. Highly recommend staying here!
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel for three nights. We also has a dinner one of the nights. They were very helpful and friendly. Thank you very much. Rooms are very interesting and rather different layout for a typical hotel room.
Great hotel. Best value for money ever. Good hotel, walkable to city centre. Hotel was comfortable, well serviced and 10 minute walk into centre. The facilities are lovely and the bar was a great area for evening relaxing. Generally well kept and comfortable.”
We stayed here for 4 nights in January 2023 and the staff were unreal ! The entire hotel was stunning, clean and welcoming. Every time we asked for something we was met with ‘certainly and of course’. It truly is a little gem ! 5 stars from me
Mystery hotel is a good hotel, I wouldn't classify it as a 5stars, but it has all amenities and facilities, like quality breakfast, near bus stop and very kind receptionist ready to help and book daily trips and so on.
