I consider several factors in choosing a hotel, then rating it afterwards. I also try and get hotels that have character or a feel for where we are, or the type of trip I am on. In other words, when in Prague, I don't want the Hilton. Reviews by others are very important, and we do our homework. Also, location,...

Easy to find if you just look out for the Burger King when you come out of the metro! If you are just looking for a clean, basic room with pleasant staff in a convenient location then this fits the bill perfectly. Just somewhere to rest your head and feels secure and straightforwards. Supermarket and all conveniences including metro and...

You can readily reach the hotel on foot from Keleti train station. The staff were exceptional and even sent a Christmas card. It is a converted residential building with large rooms and kitchen facilities. Bathrooms are new and spotless. You will not find better accommodations at this price in Budapest, albeit a basic room and no other hotel services. Can...

The locations is great! just right by the metro station! But I'm not sure how to get into the building...(from what I remembered...the door bell does not work) but luckily we met a resident at the front door so we were able to get in!! The room is spacious and clean and there's a small but functional kitchen which is...

While the hotel is close to the train station, the taxi driver didin't seem to know the street and it cost us a fortune to find it. Did we get taken for a ride, which was not the fault of the hotel! Might be helpful to have more direct address information, however. The neighbourhood is very mixed, however, the subway...

arrived in front of the hotel and wondered where on earth we had ended up.... but once you figure out how to get inside, go up a flight of stairs, then you realize it's not so bad at all! really lovely courtyard with very friendly and helpful staff. spent one night after the sziget festival and it was extremely comfortable,...

Stayed in one of the single rooms earlier this month whilst in Budapest for a few days on holiday! Great location in Pest surrounded by a tonne of location amenities including supermarkets, phamramcies, bakeries, bars, the central train station etc. Located on the corner of a busy main street just 10-15 minutes walk from the main square and all of...

The staff is kind and the rooms are nice, but the biggest selling point is the location. It is literally right next to the Blaha Luzja Ter metro station and the trams are across the street. So you can get everywhere in Budapest from here very easily. You can even walk to the Liszt Ferenc Ter area where there are...

We stayed here for a short two day trip to Budapest. We arrived early so our room wasn't ready, but we were allowed to leave our bags with reception and return later. The heating didn't seem to work in the first room we were assigned, but after informing the friendly reception they tried to get it fixed immediately, but after...

We arrived very late at night and were given a big room(triple i guess) with windows on 2 streets. It was bad because of the cars and trucks passing by. The day after we requested another room with view in the inside of the building and staff was very friendly giving us another double room. And we were totally satisfied,...

Staying in District VII / Jewish Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
District VII / Jewish Quarter
District VII is the very heart of Budapest and houses the city’s Jewish Quarter. Its streets are lively and colorful, its buildings narrate different histories in an assortment of architectural styles, and its cafes and bars are frequented and loved by the enthusiastic crowds. Grand and magnificent, the striking star of the district is the Great Synagogue, the largest in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Distinctly Moorish in style, crowned by the twin onion shaped domes, the Synagogue is the very emblem of District VII and one of the main attractions in the capital.
