For my stay in Budapest I chose this place and didn't regret it. It's a small hostel, with a relaxed and social atmosphere. It's easy so socialize here but, at the same time, it's quiet at night since normally there aren't big groups, so you won't have trouble to get a good sleep, even in the 8 bed dorm. There...

Spent 2 weeks in August with my daughter and a friend and from the minute we booked the apartment Gabor and his assistant Andreas looked after us so well. On arrival we had a meet and were introduced to the apartment where everything was explained to us. We also had the city main points to visit, eat and explore pointed...

Great place! Lots of space, great atmosphere. Staff was really helpful on arrival, and they even can do laundry for you for 1000 Forints. It is in a loft, so lots of stairs. Great neighborhood, and easy walking distance from two tram/subway stations.

This was the nicest and friendliest hostel I have ever stayed in. The location is very central and the hostel is situated on the top floor of an old, traditional apartment building (great for architecture fans like myself.) The hostel itself was very cosy loft apartment with a nice kitchen, large and airy living room and dorm rooms. It felt...

Location is pretty good, the hostel itself is ok - nothing fancy at all but meets the minimum things hostels usually provide. The staff is really nice and helpful and their tips were great! They could do with an elevator to the 4th floor, we found it hard to lug a suitcase from the 3rd to the 4th floor. And...

I stayed here with a group of friends as we backpacked through Europe for 2 weeks. Budapest was our first stop and this hostel definitely helped to make it a highlight. Upon arrival the owner gave us maps and tips on how to make the most of our trip. The location was AMAZING, very central and walking distance to most...

The loft hostel is superb for many reasons. Let me break them down for you. TIP 1: request a double bed! There are at least 2 double beds available in the dorms at the loft, for no extra cost. Send a quick email asking if you can bag yourself one of them, as if you're a seasoned backpacker like myself,...

I really enjoyed the laid back feel of this hostel. Really great general hang out area. Chill place overall. The staff was super nice and helpful and the building is super cool. Great location. Works for all types of people but definitely a nice respite from the hostels where you get wasted all night and sleep all day.

Most hostels are just a place to rest your head a night, but this one offers so much more. The fact that its so small means that everyone gets to know each other and the staff are beyond helpful- the restaurants they recommended close by were amazing. There's a box of "free stuff" in the kitchen that people leave there...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hi backpacker! We are here to welcome you to Budapest and also to invite you to join our community at The Loft--a community that shares with each other, explores together and stays up into the wee hours because there is still more beer in the refrigerator and the conversation is too good to end. One that celebrates the thrill of a new city, new food and new people, but also understands the need for long, glorious, uninterrupted sleep (having spent too many nights in airports to save a euro), never ending hot water and the rejuvenating qualities of a perfect, giant couch. So if you are tired--you sleep. If you are hungry--you eat. And whenever you are ready to go outside and see Budapest, we will not drag you by the wrist to the obvious places, but we will stand beside you and help to navigate the twisting roads, quirky museums, cheap cafes and uniquely-Budapest bars that collectively are the pulse of the city. We are a small space at Loft, but it suits us and our travelers perfectly. We are simply ourselves here, but the music is always on, the kettle is always on, we are happy and most of all? We really hope you will join us. The Staff, The Loft. Our hostel workers are lovers of fine cuisine, and other such things. ... more   less
