We spent three nights here last week. The location was perfect - especially for late night walks to Buda Castle. Transport was very close by (5 minute walk down the hill). Rooms were clean and spacious. Had a very nice, reasonably priced lunch and breakfast at the restaurant. We made many requests of the staff (getting taxis, printing boarding passes,...

The hotel is modern with 38 rooms which are all vey well appointed. The hotel is located about five minutes walk from Buda castle and about ten minutes from the nearest shopping centre and from there you can pick up a tram or bus to almost anywhere in Buda or Pest. The hotel also had a nice restaurant with seating...

We stayed at the Hotel Castle Garden May 1-6, 2013. The room with private balcony was comfortable and clean, and the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. They're really paying attention to the needs of the guests. We had dinner twice in the hotel restaurant, and found it convenient and just as good as other local restaurants....

Staying in District I / Buda

Neighbourhood Profile
District I / Buda
The historical center to a city with a multifarious and intricate past, Buda has some of the most outstanding buildings in Europe and an enviable natural landscape with stunning views onto the Danube. Centered around the Royal Palace, it provides a glimpse into the golden years of the Austro-Hungarian empire and the lives led by the aristocracy at the time. Matthias Church, beside the palace, hosted many events attended by the royal family and was the chosen place for the coronation of Franz Josef, one of the Hungarian Habsburg kings. Having admired the palace and the church, a visit to Buda will be unforgettable by the stunning and memorable panorama over Pest offered by the seven towered Fishermen’s Bastion.
