Great for a solo traveller. Situated in the pedestrian area on one of the main shopping streets. 10 mins from St Stephens basilica and 5 from main meeting points for the free walking tours. Staff really helpful (happily called to confirm my airport transfer) and friendly. Breakfast was good with mostly a cold buffet but always had eggs and one...

First I want to justify the rating. I made reservations through Hotels.com for 6 nights in the double room. When they saw it was a single person they gave me a single room (the receptionist gave me this explanation) even though I had paid for a double one. Then on the fifth night I realized that (as can be seen...

Better than one should expect for at three-stared hotel; excellent location, a big/clean room and a very friendly and helpful staff, who insisted in providing me with every part of the services that I had payed for and added to making my proposal for my girlfriend just a little bit more special. Also I was very happy that the room...

Very good location. Friendly staff. When I was in the lobby I was surprised but the rooms and service was above average. Recommended pericularly for tourists. The breakfast was reasonable. The room is large enough.

The best selling point of Promenade City Hotel was its location. It is just behind the Elizabeth Bridge, making it walking distance to Budapest's riverside attractions. Very close to a central metro station so easy to reach from the airport. Spacious, clean and modern rooms and friendly & informative staff - we were very happy with our choice and would...

We stayed at the Promenade in late March 2015 for a week as part of a Jet2 package. I emailed them in advance to secure a room upgrade which they did efficiently and courteously. So we had a super large well equipped room on the front overlooking the street - with minimal noise problems. The Hotel was superb with excellent...

We stayed three nights at the Promenade City Hotel, a clean and comfortable little hotel in the heart of the city. The rooms are spacious and quiet, despite its central location. There is only one lift but we didn't experience any long waits. The breakfast restaurant was very small, but no real problem finding a table. Food was mainly continental...

Staying in District V / Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
District V / Inner City
Discover the Inner City along the banks of the Danube, with its fashionable shops and iconic buildings. The Inner-City Parish Church and St. Stephen’s Basilica stand out as two of the finest examples of architecture in the area. If you are still hunting for more historical treats, then the ruins of the medieval city walls on Kecskeméti Utca are a must-visit while the Soviet War Memorial is also worthy of attention and relevant to Hungary’s more recent history. If shopping is on your itinerary, then be prepared: the market squares in this area are an absolute delight, particularly during the Christmas period, but even throughout the year you’ll find the latest trends in the shops on Vaci Utca.
