The hotel is minutes from the old town of Ljubljana and, after all, that is what you really want to see. The staff is efficient and friendly and the rooms well appointed. The restaurant is a good one should you wish to eat in and breakfast provided had a great variety from which to choose.

Spent a week in this hotel. Location is perfect for visits tonthevold city. Room was comfortable and reasonably clean. Breakfasts were great with large variety from which to choose. Some of attending staff were not morning people. Had lunch there once and was very impressed with quality of food as well as the price. One puzzling thing about our room was...

Arrived by bus from Munich. Hotel's a short walk down side street, and in less than 30 min, we were checked in, bags dropped off, and out to see the bridges and castle. Double Comfort is a good sized room on inner air shaft, very quiet, but lacking view and ambiance. Roomy bathroom's only issue is the corner shower's curtain...

It's the third time I've been here with my family and our experience has always been wonderful. The apartment is great, with an awesome view over Ljubljana's castle. The staff is very nice and always available. We already miss it

We booked a room for our two friends who stayed in City Hotel for 2 nights who stayed there a number of times before and they were always satisfied . However, this time they were so disappointed that they never want to go back...the room wasn't equipped with neither a fridge (the staff told us they are saving money and...

Dear LSlo, thank you for taking your time to post this review. I am sorry to hear that your friends were not able to enjoy our services this time. The changes you are mentioning are not in any way a new practice in our hotel and many of our guests find them helpful and convenient. As a 3* hotel we...

Perfect location (minutes walk from old town) and a generous breakfast buffet thats available for hours. The rooms are fine, but the shower curtain needs to be heavier. For whatever reason it kept blowing in on me while showering. Decent for the price.

Though small and compact, we found this hotel modern and full of great amenities. Excellent daily breakfast included, modern room and bathroom, friendly staff. After staying at many older European hotels prior to this part of our trip, City Hotel was a welcome newer room to stay in. It was near to all the central city sites and easy to...

The hotel is located within a few minutes walking of the old town. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our room was nice and comfortable. Breakfast was superb. Will stay there again. There is a convenient shuttle from/to the airport for only 9 euros.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
City Hotel is located in the very heart of Ljubljana and is an excellent choice for both business guests and tourists to discover the charms of Ljubljana and Slovenia. It has a wonderful view of Ljubljana Castle and the city cathedral, and an ideal location just a stone’s throw from the historic old town. This pleasant hotel among the vibrant city inns, shops, and attractive historical buildings offers local Slovenian and international cuisine as well as a state-of-the-art congress center. The Jože Pučnik international airport is only 25 km from the hotel, and the main railway and bus station is only 400 m away. The hotel is easy to access from all of the city’s major roads; once in the city, you simply follow the blue hotel signs. Ljubljana’s City Hotel is the successor to the venerable Štrukelj Hotel, which opened in 1907. The current hotel excels in its friendly staff, the warmth of its rooms, and a broad range of services found at an excellent location in the very city center. City Hotel has 201 rooms, three luxury suites, an underground garage, a conference center with four meeting rooms, a library, a terrace, an Internet corner, a restaurant, and a bar. City Hotel’s complete makeover concluded with its opening in September 2007. The “basic” and “standard” rooms were renovated, and the “superior” rooms were moved to a completely new part of the hotel. All of the rooms use a card-locking system and all of them have free Internet access. ... more   less
