Location: taxi rank right outside hotel, close to old town (5 mins walk) Check in: Staff was trying to be funny ( it's a good thing) and filled out some paperwork and room keys were given efficiently Wifi: no code needed (not very secured if you access personal email or other personal services on your device) yet internet speed was...

Nice hotel in a very good location 3 minutes walk from the main square with pink church and triple bridge. I had a single room which is quite small but comfortable and very clean. Staff is very friendly. There is a bar and restaurant an fitness center. Rich buffet breakfast is included in the room price. They can organize transport...

It's decent hotel. I found it everything what I expected after booking the hotel. The location is probably the best feature of this hotel. It's nice that you can just walk to reach the center of attraction in town although Ljubljana is not that big. The staff were all friendly.

City Hotel Ljubljana is the second hotel we stayed during our current trip which is still ongoing. We adored its location. It took us only 3-5 mins to get to Prešeren Square and all major places of interest. What more could we ask for? Extremely friendly staff, Manual, Dan or Ran (slightly-bearded young guy, I wonder if I got the...

The staff is friendly and welcoming, The rooms were small but very clean the bathroom had all the amenities you need. A reference was included which was a delicious hot buffet. By booking through an agency I got a lower price ($98.) than my friend, who booked directly, but it still represented only average value, for i received a room in the older section that was compact and pretty basic, with a large old-fashioned bath tub and noisy, but not very effective air-conditioning. There's an additional charge of 18 Euro for...

The size and modernity were a bit of a shock after small, boutique-type lodging, but the cleanliness and crispness was welcome. Good, walkable location close to everything pedestrian and the train/bus terminal. Good breakfast spread with much variety to go with comfortable, urban-style room decor.

Usual modern hotel, welcoming staff. Room large, television well placed not against the next room's wall so we could watch without feeling we were being a nuisance. Breakfast just about alright, dining area more like an airport transit lounge. Not much atmosphere in the bar. The big plus was its central location, nowhere in this most beautiful of capitol cities...

Right in the heart of the city, this hotel has 24 hour concierge service. They speak many different languages and are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are kept immaculately clean. The windows can be opened just enough to get fresh air. Loved the shower and reading light over the bed. Free WiFi is included. There's a wide variety of...

Stayed here on a recent business trip and enjoyed a thoroughly relaxing stay. Rooms were very quiet and breakfast was decent. The decor is fairly modern and it is just a five-minute walk into the centre of Ljubljana. A nice base in a fantastic city.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
City Hotel is located in the very heart of Ljubljana and is an excellent choice for both business guests and tourists to discover the charms of Ljubljana and Slovenia. It has a wonderful view of Ljubljana Castle and the city cathedral, and an ideal location just a stone’s throw from the historic old town. This pleasant hotel among the vibrant city inns, shops, and attractive historical buildings offers local Slovenian and international cuisine as well as a state-of-the-art congress center. The Jože Pučnik international airport is only 25 km from the hotel, and the main railway and bus station is only 400 m away. The hotel is easy to access from all of the city’s major roads; once in the city, you simply follow the blue hotel signs. Ljubljana’s City Hotel is the successor to the venerable Štrukelj Hotel, which opened in 1907. The current hotel excels in its friendly staff, the warmth of its rooms, and a broad range of services found at an excellent location in the very city center. City Hotel has 201 rooms, three luxury suites, an underground garage, a conference center with four meeting rooms, a library, a terrace, an Internet corner, a restaurant, and a bar. City Hotel’s complete makeover concluded with its opening in September 2007. The “basic” and “standard” rooms were renovated, and the “superior” rooms were moved to a completely new part of the hotel. All of the rooms use a card-locking system and all of them have free Internet access. ... more   less
