Good location The deluxe double rooms are large well furnished but very dark and gloomy very dim lighting. All bells no whistles. The rooftop terrace is beautiful a wonderful place to spend a few hours.Excellent service. The housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient. The same can not be said for the reception staff no pleasantries after checking in we were never greeted on entering or leaving the hotel daily on 1 occasion I asked for assistance in making change so I could tip a tour guide waiting for me No was the answer I received not let me see or I will try just No And I went to the bar the same reply. So my advice is get your front of house staff some customer service training. This is not acceptable guest relations and a very poor representation of this hotel definitely not a 5 star customer experience.…
Old fassade, stylish interior, best in the city, 7 minutes walk to the Rynek, the market square. Best rooms are the deluxe double, avoid the suites, they are to big and absolutely uncomfortable, not cosy at all. Best breakfast buffet of any hotel in Poland! Also the roof top terrace is a delight, and if the weather turns ugly, the adjacent restaurant serves the same high quality, stylish food.
I spent one night in Monopol. The hotel is located 5 min from Main Square. I loved the building itself, it is perfectly renewed and spotless clean. Breakfast is great as well. Also houskeeping ladies were very helpful when needed. The issues I noticed: - ACOUSTIC in the rooms. You can hear your neighbours walking, taking showers and banging the doors. I had no sleep. - plastic bottles in the SPA. - no coffee/tea in the room. You can order it from the restaurant - no proper curtains. The light easly gets through - at the checkout no question "how was your stay?" which is the standard in other hotels All above very disappointing for the 5* hotel.
A wonderful stay! It was really good: Size of the rooms, location, equipment, friendliness of the staff, pool in the basement, care products in the bathroom, fast elevators, terrace on the upper floor, parking possibility opposite the hotel, lamps. Great bathroom with rainforest shower and tub, impressive building Not so good was the brightness in the room. Because of the position of the windows it was quite dark in the room. Conclusion: a great hotel in a great location, I can absolutely recommend
The building is grand, the location great, the rooms huge. Unfortunately the positives stop here. My expectation (and indeed experience) of a 5 star is that things are made largely hassle-free. I did not quite get this feeling at all at Monopol. Many small things betray a lock of attention to detail in the design and furnishing of the room. No clock in the room. No coffee or tea making facilities. Unintuitive A/C control panel (when I called the reception about it, they said they'd send someone right away, but no one came). Then there is that staff, who were also a let down. The "concierge" has absolutely no idea what they're talking about. When I inquired at the front desk about getting tickets for the famous Panorama Racławicka (the main tourist attraction of the city), the lady told me that I "just need to go to the website" - almost mockingly so. Thing is: I had done just that, to no success, else I wouldn't ask. Another staff member then chimed in: "Don't worry, there are always tickets on the day, you just have to go". So we went - only to find out tickets had been sold out 3 days before. Great. You would expect a "concierge" to have their finger on the pulse of their city. Obviously not the case here. Very disappointing. Finally, I would strongly advise being VERY careful in the bathroom: the marble floor looks great, but the design of the shower is EXTREMELY dangerous (slippery). An exercise in form over function, as with many things in this hotel.…
