This old world hotel combines the decor of a bygone era with such modern amenities as an infinity pool in the spa area. The breakfast was over the top in a country that likes to do food over the top. The Zakapone resort area has an almost Swiss feel to it. If you come here and are displeased, you either are too hard to please or have bad luck.

Beautiful hotel in the center of Zakopane. Confortable rooms. The pool and spa area is very nice: there is a pool, jacuzzi, wet and dry sauna as well as plenty of lounging chairs. The hotel restaurant is delicious: large breakfast buffet with mainly savory choices, but also cakes and yogourts. We also had dinner at the restaurant, where they serve typical polish food. A parking is available there. In front of the hotel start shuttles to the most popular outdoor sites in the region: it is worth to take them and leave the car at the hotel !

Great spot for exploring the Tatra mountains. Spacious rooms with the historical charm and modern conveniences. Great beds. Well renovated bathroom. Breakfast so-so, not impressed. Bus stop just outside taking hikers to the trailheads and departure of the cabin to the mountain, both for skiing and hiking. very serviceminded front desk staff, recommended the best restaurants nearby and read us as guests to a T. Spac and wellness facilities downstairs to ease the weary muscles after an active day. Tried both jacuzzi and massage, both were perfect.

We spent 10 nights at the Grand Hotel Stamary to go walking and found all staff to be really friendly and helpful despite the language barrier. The hotel is in a good location for both catching the bus and also walking to Krupowki Street and you can walk through the park to get there if you wish.
We ate at the hotel a couple of times and the food was lovely and not much more expensive than in Zakopane.
The pool was a welcome relief after a full day walking and we had it to ourselves most days and we spent time in the bar also each evening and staff were really attentive.
Breakfast was served to you and food was a good selection to suit everyone and did lead to queuing but we have to be mindful of the reason for this.
A lovely hotel and will definitely return!

It's the third time I come back to this hotel, it became my "go-to-place" when in Zakopane. Always very nice. Clean, organised, very nice premises and location, plus attentive and kind staff. The room (I took the apartment with bedroom and day area separated) was spacious and comfortable for a family (2 parents, 2 kids). The only thing I believe could improve is the time of dinner when half board is purchased: 16 to 18 is really way too early. It's true that checking in advance you could move the time to a later hour, but, especially when on holiday, changes often happen "on the go" while outside the hotel and it's annoying to have to call or come back to check if it's possible to move the dinner to a more standard time (18-21 maybe?)

Location 5/5 ~ Located in the town center, the building seen from the external looks impressive and characteristic. Room: 3.5/5 ~ The room matches the expectation for a 4 stars hotel when it comes to the bed and the services but not for the bathroom that need an urgent restoration. Reception 3.5/5 ~ Not bad, not impressive. In the average compared to many other hotels in Poland. Breakfast 5/5 ~ Fresh and abuntdant. Tipical polish. SPA 4/5 ~ Swimming pool, jacuzzi, massages, sauna did not impress me but I've enjoyed a lot when not overcrowded by families and group of people not respecting the silence rule.

Beautiful old hotel with nice garden central to zakopane. Rooms are fine and breakfast is good. Only downside is that bubbles are only served at breakfast on weekends. Massage at the Spa is very good, as is the physiotherapist.

We loved this hotel, it really is beautiful from the grand entrance, friendly reception staff and of course the fabulous room we stayed in. We enjoyed the little touches, comfy/fluffy bathrobes, nice toiletries and complimentary bottled water. The balcony was gorgeous with quality furniture, perfect for sipping wine before heading out for dinner. I would defoe stay here again and make sure to pack swimwear and make full use of onsite spa facilities, that too looked beautiful .

We booked romantic stay 28-30.08. Unfortunately I could call our stay everything also then romantic. We got a room with a balcony on 3rd floor facing the road. The noise from outside during the night was impossible to stand, also we could hear people around speaking inside the hotel. Room had no air conditioning, it was not possible to control the temperature inside (outside was about 28 degrees Celsius). Room itself was super old, walls were extremely dirty, mold between shower and tiles. On top of everything room didn’t even had proper curtains, just one big and one small so we could only partially cover the windows. Dirty carpet in the room, walls are begging to be painted. In general our stay was very disappointing, romantic dinner was ok and breakfast as well. I have no clue how this hotel is getting such high ratings from other portals. During check out we were not asked if we liked our stay or not, my husband who doesn’t speak Polish was constantly disregarded by hotel staff and I had to translate everything for him (with exception of spa staff where ladies spoke English) mattress full of hair, cracks in shower fixed with hot glue-ish looking substance. Never again.

A successful New Year's Eve party. The hotel organized this well. New Year's dinner was very good. The animation, however, was quite basic. The DJ who disappears after the 12 strokes of midnight is not great. Otherwise the hotel is clean, the pool ok except when it is filled with children. And yes, this hotel is not an adult only! Personally I did not have the feeling of a hotel run by a management that gives clear instructions. The service depends on who is serving. One did not serve at the tables of the bar while the other, the next day yes. A 4-star must have a line followed by all staff. Moreover we had the unpleasant surprise that the taxi promised the night before had not been booked! Apart from that, the hotel is located close to the center along a busy street but traffic can not be heard.

I'm so sorry I missed seeing your question Mike. The Stamary is quite a walk from the shops and market. I'm in my late 60's and reasonable fit and it was a pleasant walk for me but took a good 30 mins but the hotel is right next to where all the taxis park and they aren't expensive.
"500 yards from bus station easy connection from Krakow. All shops are local with some good restaurants available. In may the shops are selling off winter clothing. "
