We are young travelers who've visited many countries and look for great locations, pleasant, competent staff, and good value. At the Karolowka Hotel, we found one out of three. The location - out of the hustle and bustle of a very touristy downtown and closer to the hiking trails - was perfect. The staff were pleasant and smiley, although it might be useful if they hired someone whose grasp of English was more than just rudimentary. As for value... The room we got (Room1) was too close to the reception and the dining area, so that was definitely annoying and we couldn’t sleep at all (not just because of other people was having fun all night long). We tried to express our feelings to the receptionist but they didn’t speak English at all. The beds looked like something out of summer camp - only about a foot off the floor and barely six feet long. It was so uncomfortable that we could barely sleep. The breakfast was decent, at reasonable prices. The area is well worth a look, but I've got to think there are better values than the Karolowka. If you get the room nr. 1 or 2 you should refuse it immediately because we’re sure that you won’t sleep at all! There shouldn’t be a room nearby the reception and the dining area in the first place!…
I bought voucher for 3 course meal and spa package for my parents in law for their 25th wedding anniversary! Booked it in advance and everything meant to go well! But they ruined their experience and day, and I am not even saying about making me and my boyfriend look like a fouls! My parents in law arrived and they were informed that masseur it's not there, he phoned sick or something... Receptionist offered them different day, but she knew from previous arrangements with me that we weren't from Zakopane and we were staying there only few days. As I also work in hospitality industry I think it's unacceptable to do things like that.. I am sure hotel knew about that earlier and they should phone us and try to arrange something different or at least inform us so my parents in law would know what they coming for.. Also I am very disappointed that management of the hotel weren't even bothered to say SORRY, it's very unprofessional.. there was receptionist dealing with it?! I know hotel is a wedding venue so for the future brides: To be honest I would be careful with this hotel! If it happened to my parents in law, it can also happen to you on your big day.. …
The location is nice if you want some quiet time. However, if you plan to go to the city center, you should keep in mind that you'll be paying for a cab (25 PLN, flat rate) every time. It doesn't make sense to go with your own car, as finding parking in the center might be tricky... Hotel offers a large parking area in the back. The rooms have a nice traditional mountain feel, but nothing goes above the 3-star accommodation. Although the cook is great if you come for dinner, the breakfast buffet could be better. If you need to have a meeting, hotel offers a conference room in the basement. On the other hand, if you're visiting to relax, there's a spa offering a wide variety of relaxing, beauty and medical treatments. Area around the reception has a lot of comfortable seating options and the bar has the same feel I would visit again, but I'd probably get my breakfast elsewhere.…
The apartment is fantastic! There is room for 4 to 5 people. Totally equipped and modern. But you will really need a car, because although it's close to one mountain, you must get to the city center and to the other mountains.
This hotel is well worth the slightly out of the way location. First off, the rooms looked exactly like the pictures from various websites, they were also quite large in that there was a small living room separate from the beds. Bathrooms were on the small side but adequate and very clean. The beds were comfortable and the location made for a peaceful night. Breakfast buffet was very good. Parking is free. It takes about 5 minutes to get to town by bus, which runs on the frontage street. You can walk to the Jaszczurówka Chapel in 5 minutes which is a tourist site for Zakopane. I would happily stay here again as the value and quality were the best of the hotels I stayed at during this vacation.
Positive : We went for ski vacation with children , Took room with 2 rooms inside - this is a bid advantage ( both of the rooms has tv ). The hotel is very clean , Good location ( short driving for ski resort and for the town ) This hotel gives you mush more than 3 stars service .
A little outside of town, Dwór Karolówka is quiet and peaceful, the perfect place for a mountain holiday. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Hungry upon arrival, we ate at the hotel restaurant which was excellent. The golonka was fall-off-the-bone tender! The only negative thing about the hotel were the beds. They could be a little more comfortable. They weren't bad, but they could be better. Overall, I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Zakopane.
I visited Zakipane for skiing. I was alone without car, but location of this hotel is very and very convenience and a really good singl room. personal was very frendly. Hotel is very cozy. There is a little but very good spa.
I told the waitress upon my arrival that I can't eat anything with gluten. In the next morning my breakfast with gluten free bread without even asking for it. I think that the attention to details differ an excellent service from just a good service. The hotel's location is convenience, the rooms are decent. In general 5+
This is an extremely attractive hotel with good ammenities and small but comforable rooms. As others have stated, it can be difficult to locate, even with SatNav, so do plan your arrival route and look out for the hotel as the entrance is on a bend in the orad and if you go too fast you will miss it. Although located outside of the main town the bus stop is within 100 meters and (although this can be an experience in itself) can be preferable to taking your own car in (although not quicker as the best has to que too). The breakfast is mostly local food, but it is well prepared and there is plenty of it.
