The Hotel Maltański is situated right by the lush greenery which surrounds the Old Town. Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely building, nice staff and great location. Unfortunately the rooms are very soundproof. I could hear someone’s alarm going off at 6am! My room was above the front door and you could hear it creek and bang every time someone used it. Nice selection at breakfast with some traditional items too.

Like me you've probably looked at loads of different hotels in Kraków - well let me save you further work, book this one. All the reviews you read are fair and correct this is a real find. A small homely hotel close to everything. Lots of hotels say 10 minutes walk to the main square and probably aren't, well this one actually is. Closeby is the castle and lots of tram routes. The room we had was spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean it even had a heated floor in the huge bathroom. One small niggle, the shower curtain ( I really dislike them) was too short and the floor got soaked as a result. The decor is old style but in good condition and there's a modern TV and even a clock/radio alarm. When's the last time you saw that in a hotel? There is also a safe in the room Breakfast was included in the rate, mainly aimed at continental tastes, ie cheese, meats etc but there was also small pastries and cereals, tea, coffee and toast. The staff as noted elsewhere in these reviews are superb and very helpful. There's something lovely about this place, warm and cosy it's very quiet at night and you feel safe too. So what's keeping you?

This hotel is lovely. Really well situated opposite Planti Park and Walter Castle.10 minutes walk from the main square where everything is available. The staff are amazing and really helpful. We arrived in Krakow on Monday to stay one night and then go to Zakopane. We were booked in again on the Thursday evening for 4 nights. They stored our extra luggage for us at no extra cost. The rooms are really lovely. We had a First floor room the first night and it was great. The next time we were on the ground floor. Both rooms were well decorated and well maintained as was the hotel. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety. The staff extremely helpful and pleasant. They booked trips, taxis and advised us on the best ways to get around. Would highly recommend this hotel. Reasonably priced for the service and close proximity to the square.

This lovely little hotel is well decorated, functional and very clean. It's not busy, only having a handful of rooms and everything is good, including the small buffet breakfast. Staff are very friendly, and the rooms are cleaned daily. Would stay here again if in Krakow.

Well, the greatest part was staff and their attitude towards customer, but location, facility, price and all the rest came as second to the service provided. If I ever come to Krakow again - this will be the place where I will stay at. And I don't often say that, as I demand quality for what I pay. We were heading out at 4AM due to our flight and they provided us with morning coffee, sandwiches and water before we left. Both thumbs up.

The building dates from long ago - served as stables for the Wawel Castle. Service is good, breakfast excellent, Our room's bath left much to be desired. A showerhead on the wall of the tub/shower unit had no diverter so was useless. A telephone and cradle type shower unit just above the rim of the tub that could not be secured on the bar in any position that was useful. So you had to hold in in your hand. Not easy to manipulate. And perhaps worst of all the shower curtain ended about 1 1/2 inches ABOVE the tub so was pretty useless in containing water. So bathing here was no pleasure. The fellow at the desk said they knew about it and had plans to renovate the bath in the off seaso, Didn't do us much good. The room itself was large and cheerful with french doors to a little sitting area at the back and double windows on another wall (it was a corner room)

Traditional as in old - Needs a face lift and a good deal of modernisation but it was clean very spacious and the staff (reception) were excellent. Rooms are very dated by modern (read as last 10-20 years) standards with poor (none) air conditioning assuming you discount the pedestal fan which has a number of speed levels but the lowest was akin to the sound of a jet engine so not ideal for sleep. Curtains in the room were poor so early morning light poured in. Breakfast didn't start until 730am so we didn't sample as we had to check in at the airport at 8am. I had room 4 or 5 next door to reception so you could hear noise from the reception area and what I can only assume was the reception facilities! For the price paid, I would have stayed at a chain personally.

A very friendly small hotel ideally placed for the old town but quiet and peaceful. The room was a good size and clean and well decorated and maintained. Breakfasts were fine but the small dining room was a bit problematic when the hotel was full. But all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our stay very much!
