The Appia Hotel was perfect for our needs. We were there for three nights in total, in October, and loved it. The hotel is located on a quiet side street close to the castle, on the north side of the city. It is surrounded by a mixture of cafes, small residential buildings, museums, shops, restaurants and embassies, and feels very safe to walk during the day and night. It is very easy (being in our 30s) to walk from the hotel to the castle, and also to the old town across the river. The hotel was very responsive to our emails, and pre-arranged a taxi pickup at the airport. The driver was easy to find as he was waiting for us just beyond the arrivals gate, after picking up our suitcases. Make sure you bring cash to pay the taxi driver. The hotel was not busy - rarely did we see other people, except at breakfast time. Mostly couples and smaller groups of middle aged women for some reason. The buffet breakfast was included, and was probably the most memorable aspect of our stay - the food selection was great. They served the creamiest scrambled eggs, and great smoked sausage. The cakes, cheeses, salads and coffees were excellent as well. Breakfast is served at the upper floor, where you are surrounded by the beautiful, old wooden roof structure. And at the entrance to the breakfast area, you can find remnants of the very well preserved ancient ruins of the church that the hotel was built on. Such a historic site. The reception desk is manned 24 hours and staff were always available and friendly. The room itself was clean and very spacious. It came with a nespresso machine, mini fridge with snacks, and safe. The furniture was in very good shape. Bathroom was very clean with large shower and towel heaters. We didn't have time to try any of the food or drink at the in house bar, but saw a small group of people lounging and drinking on the outdoor patio at ground floor - looked relaxing as the patio faces the interior garden/courtyard area. We also didn't have time to try out the sauna unfortunately. It was a very quiet hotel when we stayed - just the way we like it. We would definitely stay here again, and have recommended it already to friends and family. Thanks Appia!

From the moment we stepped in to the hotel and up to the moment we left, we had the best service! Always with a smile(day or night). The rooms are luxurious and beautiful as the common areas(garden and reception). And the dinning room in the attic is breathtaking! Along with the great food and lovely bartenders/eaitresses. Also the hotel is fairly close to Charles bridge and theirfore to the centrum, but at the same time it is a quiet street and very safe.
