The guest house Merlin is a very good value. The prices are good, and my room was very spacious, with a private bathroom (and clean)!. The staff was very nice, and the hotel is withing walking distance of all the downtown attractions. There was also wifi internet complimentary in the hotel.

I've stayed here twice in the 4 times I've been to Prague, and I'll definitely be staying here again. The location is excellent - just a short walk from both the new and old towns and Charles Bridge. It's very cheap, but the rooms are very clean and modern and nice hot showers for those cold autumn or winter days....

This hotel is well-placed for sightseeing. The room was simple but clean and comfortable and there was no outside noise. The staff at reception were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. This is not a luxurious hotel but provides good value for money in a central location.

I was in town for a conference and stayed a few extra days to explore this beautiful city. The hotels recommended by the conference organizer were all full, and so I resorted to an on-line reservation service <www.hotelsprague.cz> which was very responsive and helpful. They helped me find Merlin and I was quite happy with the choice. Like others have...

If you are interested in a well located, clean, safe room in Prague, this is your place. A variety of rooms are available, just be sure to to book early. The staff is very friendly, and extremely helpful. In particular, the Merlin is a good bet for those not familiar with Prague, or dependent on assistance in English.

We found the Merlin easily from the internet directions, the unit was great and the location is exactly as described - a short walk to all the main sites. We were very impressed with our front desk lady who had to spend a lot of time researching our reservation and its details. The booking agent had not properly infromed the...

My friends and I stayed here while we were studying abroad in Europe. The building was beautiful and the rooms reminded us of a quaint cottage you would find in the country. Our first room had a minor problem with the heating and instead of just sending a repair man, the owner immediately upgraded us to a nicer room which...

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
