My husband and I were visiting Prague for the first time and found Hotel Merlin on line. I don't remember what we paid for our room but we were delighted. The Hotel isn't modern but we loved it. The hotel itself was very clean and had a air of faded glory. Our bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was...

The hotel was clean and quiet on a side street close to the river. The staff were very friendly and helpful. After check out they let us leave our luggage at no additional charge. The free wifi was very slow but did get the job done. Housekeeping only services the rooms every other day. Save your money on the added...

Being there for 3 nights the rooms are okay but shower/bath is poor (no hook for shower) and there is no big mirror in the room. When telling to the reception there was not a big reaction as they don't really care what could be improved in the hotel. Overall quite disappointed as the renovation of the rooms is original...

Located close to metro station and a mall with post office, cafe, bank and supermaket. Around 20 minutes walk to Old Town. Friendly staff And probably the cheapest mini market in the central area - one block away

We repreated a visit to Merlin pension based on our positive experience from several years ago. One of the big adventages of the hotel is its location - almost at the centre of the city, 10 minutes walk from the Old Town, two bridges from Kalov's one. The rooms are furnished in an old way as in fact the hotel...

We were happy to have only spent two nights there. Cons: When we arrived, we had to wait more than two and a half hours after the planned regular check in time (which was 14:00- our request for early check in was denied), exhausted from our flight, because the room wasn't ready. We went out, and waited, and it was...

The location is very good. The price is affordable. The stuff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is nice and the room fits for a couple. The not so good is that if you live your window open at night, there us a lot of mosquitos. Don't have air conditioner at the room, only a fan.

A nice affordable hotel in a good location. My room was a good size, comfortable, and clean. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. The hotel is well situated, close to the Dancing house. All the city centre attractions are within an easy walk.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighbourhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred metres long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theatres. National Theatre near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
