I was traveling with car and dog. While a dog is free in other hotels, there is a high charge here, and for the carpark as well- which is a small garage for 8 cars and accessable with the keycard. While in other hotels it is charged in CZK they charge it here in EUR which means a better rate is always the profit for the hotel. Both charges were higher than the room per night with breakfast. The breakfast in this 4* hotel doesnt include scrambled eggs or bacon or something warm. The room was nice and clean, and the staff nice. BUT on the check out when I was driving out I had a flat tyre. To make the long story short I went to a Pneuservice. He checked everything and said someone let the air off as the tyre is ok and I could make my ride for 8 hrs. The thing is, it was ok on arrival, the garage ist only accessable to the renter and staff and it was on leaving and it was not damaged with nail or so. Its for sure someone did it. But the hotel was not offering to watch the camera and said it could not happen. It left me back with a bad feeling.

Hotel is in a great location. The rooms are spacious. Well stocked with towels, hot drink supplies and also toiletries. The room was extremely hot though and the air con didn't work to cool it down so we had to have the window open quite a bit.

There were two issues we had - one was how dirty the carpet was in the room. We understand that people walk in daily and have pushchairs and luggage but a regular clean would make the room so much better.
We then had on our last night a dog, which had been left in a room, barking and crying for a couple of hours. It woke our baby up quite a few times as it was so loud.

Check in is straight forward and they have a luggage room handy. We used it for the morning and the day we left.

Breakfast is standard. A selection of hot, cold foods, cereals, toast and yoghurts.
They have an afternoon snack area too, which has soup, bread and small sandwiches.

I always write positive reviews, but unfortunately this is the first time I have to mention a negative one as well.
As a Czech, I was surprised that in a Czech hotel the registration card is filled out in English. Of course, we understand that there are mainly foreign clients here and I have no problem filling out the card, but I would assume that the hotel will have cards in Czech as well as in English. Another thing that surprised us is that it is not possible to play a Czech channel on TV. We really found it funny that Czech programs are blocked in a hotel in the Czech Republic. We were also greeted at the reception by a receptionist who did not speak Czech well (I would assume she had Ukrainian citizenship). Many of the staff were Ukrainian. I note that I don't normally have a problem with this, but the waitresses at the restaurant can't even say hello. They are not smiling at all. As soon as the client finishes milking, he does not clean the dirty dishes at all. In other hotels, we have the experience that as soon as the client puts the plate aside, the waitress immediately goes to take it away.
It occurred to us that it is really just cheap labor and the staff in the restaurant has no experience.
They have no overview at all. Personally, I would welcome it if the waitress could greet the guest and smile after entering the restaurant.
The window in the room could not be opened. But the room was nice and every day it was properly cleaned. Great location of the hotel.
The hotel seemed more 3* to us. I recommend explaining to the waitresses that it is polite to greet your clients and that a smile won't spoil anything...on the contrary.
Reception staff fine.

Stayed for two nights. First, confirmation didnt provide exact address for the place. Second, called a number which was on a registration form - a guy could not explain where the place is, does not know surrounding places, was even asking if we are sure we are in Prague??! Two times said a wrong address and doesn’t even know a hotel name in front of their hotel, etc.
Room was okay, bathroom filthy. One of the towels was folded but not washed - with brown lines on it ( I bet you can guess what). Went to ask for a new one in the reception, but a receptionist offered a toiled paper or a shower gel instead of a new towel… said the room cleaners are not working and cannot give us any new one during our stay (3 days). Okay. *At least bed was clean enough 😂
Reception guy was not welcoming, barely talking when asked for something, was always uncomfortable walk in or out the place due to stalking.

After 3 days in Poland we arrived in Prague and came directly to the Archibald, We had reservations for 4 rooms and 5 people. The hotel seemed a little away from Old Town SQ but after walking it everyday we realized it was a perfect location, just around the corner and down the road from Wenceslas Sq adn maybe 15 minute walk to Old Town Sq and all the tourist hotspots,. I also loved the little market store on the corner. The hotel was clean and the rooms were nice, A little noisy if on the street side so keep your windows closed (I love them open). Breakfast was very nice with many options and selections. We had a range of hotel desk clerk experiences. Some were extremely nice, friendly and helpful, some seemed to prefer to not be bothered. Every night we would sit in the lobby and relax with some wine (we bought at store) and prepare for the next day. On some nights we had a nice conversation with desk clerks. My biggest complaint would be the wi-fi. It was horrible. Weak and spotty at best, it kept dropping connection and resetting. It was a little better in the rooms, but in the lobby it was awful. In todays "connected" age with such a reliance on apps this was very disappointing. At least I had my e-sim to rely on. Overall I was pleased with this hotel but would suggest they encourage all staff to be more friendly and helpful adn upgrade to a better internet service.

First of all - this is NOT a four star hotel. Even our local driver who picked us up for First of all - this is NOT a 4 star hotel. Even our local driver who drove us to the Train station commented the Archibald City Hotel is not a 4 star hotel. Room was small. Carpet was filthy. Bathroom was ok size with only one sink and no counter space. Housekeeping did not leave adequate towels on 2 occasions and never pick up dirty glasses/cups. Front desk was not at all helpful - to the point of being rude at times. No space for taxi/uber pickup. Free daily breakfast was awful. Coffee was instant/watered down as was the juice. There were no amenities such as bell captain, workout facilities, etc. mediocre bathroom soap, lotion, etc. No real hotel security. Card access only needed to enter room. Photos on website do not depict reality. Cannot understand the high ratings / my guess is only selected ratings are posted.

Stayed the first weekend in February for 3 nights, there were 9 in our group visiting for a (relatively subdued) stag weekend. On arrival I think there was a little confusion over the rooms as we had 5 rooms booked between us but this was soon cleared up and we were given our keys.

Rooms were clean, well presented and spacious with everything you could need in them (tv, kettle, safe etc). Hot water was good and decent shower. The beds were made each day and were pretty comfy although very small duvets. The only negative about the room was the temperature, it was extremely hot and the air con did not seem to do anything to help. We just opened a window so no major issue.

Breakfast was varied with cold meats, cereals, pastries, eggs etc. Some things a little cold and some odd choices such as rice dishes but I guess this is just to cater for different cultures (no English sausage or bacon). The hotel also puts on a free brunch 12-4 with a similar selection.

Location really is great, not right on the central streets but only a couple of streets away which is ideal. 5 minutes walk to Wenceslas Square and maybe 15 minutes to the Old Town square.

All in all this hotel worked great for our needs and I would stay here again as it was fantastic value.

My girlfriend passed out on a chair by the lobby while I went to get her, the girl who was at the reception was just sitting and was on the computer while a guest tried to wake her up, I took her back upstairs to the room and when I went downstairs and asked the girl in the reception to they give me ice to lower my girl's temperature, they said they don't have ice??? how is it possible that a 4-star hotel has no ice, so I pay 600 euros to stay in this hotel and they have no ice and ignore people who pass out on their lobby. If you don’t believe me go watch your security camera date 18.11.2023.

Dears, thank you very much for your feedback after your visit. We feel sorry for unpleasant incident of your lady. Unfortunately, hotel kitchen was already closed when this situation happened and from this reason we were unable to provide you requested ice. Our receptionist on duty offered you to call an ambulance immendiately after she found out what happened, but you refused this. Sorry, but we are not sure if there was anything else we could do. We hope in your understanding.

Wonderful hotel in the city, but quiet.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The room was big enough with a modern bathroom, TV with international channels, air conditioning.
Breakfast was incredible. It offered food for travellers from all over the world. The brunch only offered a hot soup and sandwiches but it was tasty and unusual for a city hotel.
Would recommend and would choose again

This hotel probably isn’t a 4 star in my opinion. We stayed here for a few days for a city break. Check in was seamless, reception staff all friendly. Room was clean, and cleaned daily when requested. Carpet could do with a bit of an update as it was stained (looked like bleach stain) and the wardrobe wasn’t really deep enough to be practical for more than a few days. Curtains didn’t black out properly around the edges.
Breakfast was fine, cereal, toast, pastries, some cooked items, salad and the fresh fruit was lovely. Bean to cup coffee. Not much more you could’ve wanted.
Brunch (added bonus we didn’t know before booking) we only did once on our last day, cold cheese, meats, sandwiches and soup with rolls.
Luggage room available if wanting to make the most of the day after checking out.
Far out enough of the main old town to be quiet, but close enough to walk.
On a pretty busy one-way street with no real place for a taxi to pull over.
