I stayed at this location twice this year and both stays were excellent! I'm not really into fancy accommodations, but this place is in a great location with very nice amenities and has an unbelievable staff. I would really have a hard time staying elsewhere in Prague knowing what I know about the Alchymist. The staff is second to none...

Our trip to Prague was a birthday present for my fiance from me so I wanted something very special for him. This hotel was very special, truly, 'a hidden gem'. Inside is beautiful! Although this is not a large hotel it has a regal feel in the choice of decor (I loved it!). With French style furniture in gold gilt,...

WOW-this hotel is hard to beat. It is small and quaint but large in history, decor and hospitality. Wonderful breakfast, fabulous massage and a certain staff member, Lisa who made our stay so enjoyable. Don't ever lose her.

After reading about this hotel, our expectations were extremely high and upon arrival they were surpassed in every way. Approached though the cosy open courtyard, the eclectically styled interior is both elegant and intimately romantic. Our room was charming without being fussy, and the complimentary bottle of champagne on arrival was very welcome. In the converted cellars of the hotel,...

Our whole family (55 people) went for a waak-end in the czech capital. Everyone, from my youngest cousin (3 month) to my grandmother (88 years) enjoyed our stay at the Alchymist Hotel. Located next to the US and the Irish ambassy in the heart of the City we could enjoy all kind of high end facilities (especially the Spa). Service...

We were here for 4 nights in mid August. Hotel is everything you could want and more in a small venue. Probably the best location in Prague, right across from the American and Irish embassies. Short walk to everywhere and walking is a must to truly enjoy this beautiful city. Arrived on a Friday afternoon and our driver from the...

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighbourhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighbourhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighbourhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighbourhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
