This is a remarkable luxury hotel in the centre of Prague, just opposite the American embassy. The design is heavily baroque and there are golden ornaments galore. Check-in was easy and very efficient. The rooms are comfortable, well equipped, clean and roomy. Room and guest service are frindly and efficient. Breakfast buffet is tasty and of good quality. There is supposed to be an afternoon wine and cheese event but this was somehow neglected by the staff. On the first afternoon, the wine and cheese was only brought out after we eventually asked. The next day, there was nothing at all. (Not even somebody to ask) so we stopped bothering. There is a fantastic spa area and all treatments were carried out to perfection. I didn‘t like the check-out procedure because the receptionist gave me a bill with numerous cryptic items, but she couldn‘t explain what we were actually charged for. This is not good enough and needs to be done more professionally, especially if you are talking several thousand Euros. Altogether, this is a nice hotel with a few organisational issues which need to be streamlined.…
When my fiancée and I were planning our stay in Prague we knew we wanted a nice place with local flavor that was well located. I'd only been there once, long ago for business, and she had never been there. In the end, we could not have picked a better spot. The hotel is in a perfect location. We walked everywhere. The Charles Bridge is right down the street, the Castle just up the hill. The view from our third floor window was spectacular. The Alchymist oozes with character, we literally had our breath taken away when we first walked into our room. The front desk staff could not have been more welcoming. They were pleasant and helpful. The hotel got in touch a week or so before to ask if we wanted a ride from the airport. The cost is very reasonable and is added to your bill. Highly recommend this. The hotel is located next to the US embassy, so the street is quiet and well guarded. We already look forward to our next visit to Prague and it is certain we will stay at the Alchymist.…
We had a great late December stay here. We were greeted with mulled wine on arrival and shown around. Our room was well appointed, and the building itself is really special. The breakfast was quite good and the on site cafe was convenient in times for a small snack or additional coffee. I would definitely recommend checking out the spa during your stay. I had a facial booked but the facialist fell ill so we just had a nice soak and sauna but the facilities are very pretty and it’s a great way to relax after a long day of sight seeing. It was easy to reach from the train station by tram and a moderate walk to most sites. It was nice to be a bit away from the crowds.
We finally made it here 2.5yrs late after COVID. The hotel is lovely and all the staff we met were very helpful. The only slight negatives I would say would be the lack of any English TV channel (other than 1 news channel) and the swimming pool is too cold to use really. Otherwise its great. We did'nt eat there as 25 euros for breakfast per person nearly knocked us off our chair when there is so much lovely local competition nearby. Location is great, 10mins walk to the Castle or the Charles Bridge the other way plus lots of lovely places to eat and drink. Very safe as its opposite the US embassy so always a few police on the street but its a very quiet road anyway. Thanks for having us.
This is a beautiful small hotel just outside the old city center so it's an easy walk over the Charles Bridge. The rooms are beautiful and a pretty good size. The public spaces are fantastic, make sure to go downstairs to look at the spa/pool area. Breakfast was also very good, the attendants were very nice. The only negative was that we checked in at noon, asked if our room was ready by chance and we were told the room was ready but it would be a 50 euro charge for an early check in. 50 euros for 2 hours is pretty excessive. They really need a better way to handle that.
This is the most incredible hotel we've ever stayed at in the world! Every detail, from the most delicious homemade chocolates every day, to the best spa I've ever experienced in all of Europe. Every ounce of this hotel is perfection! Prague is equally as beautiful as Paris and on our 2nd trip to Prague in the last 10 years, we fell in love with this hotel! We stayed at one of the owners other properties on our last trip. And we loved that hotel too. The food is to die for & every detail of the hotel makes you feel like you are kings & queens living like true royalty. Thanks again for everything Giorgio. We will definitely be back.
The hotel is in a great location very close to the US embassy and easy walking or tram distance from the Prague Castle, and walking distance to St. Nicholas church and Infant of Prague Catholic churches. The hotel staff is extremely helpful and always had someone on staff fluent in English. The breakfast was great, and enjoyed using the sauna in the mornings. The workout room is far better than most comparable European hotels and has a unique pool sauna spa area. Highly recommend this hotel. I was in Prague to visit friends and couldn't stay with them due to a family member having Covid-19. Because local friends arranged my stay I did have a slightly discounted rate. (But would argue for the price, you won't find better!) A number of good restaurants in the area as well. I just had a regular second floor room with a king size bed which was incredibly comfortable. Met some folks from the US who had a suite on the top floor which was amazing!…
I first visited this hotel in 2018 when I booked a massage through their sister hotel down the street. The moment I walked in I told myself next time I visited Prague I would stay here. Fast forward 4 years and I finally did. I stayed for 3 nights and the location could not be far from perfect. It is located across the street from the US Embassy and it is a very safe area. The Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and bars and restaurants are near by. My room was enormous, it was almost like a one bedroom apartment minus the kitchen. Bed was comfortable and fairly quiet as the street next to it is not very busy. Breakfast was delicious and plenty of food variety. The staff was friendly and welcoming and always with a smile. My only negative experience I have was regarding my massage appointment. It wasn't that big of a deal since I wasn't on a schedule but for some guests it may be. I scheduled a massage and a treatment for 10am. I arrived at the spa to find most of the lights off and nobody around. I waited patiently for at least 20min before going up to reception to ask where the spa staff was, she told me my therapist was running late and should be there soon. I continued to wait patiently until the therapist arrived almost one hour late. In the meantime I wasn't offered anything to drink while I waited. As far as the massage, it wasn't great like it was the first time 4 years ago. I will not be booking a massage there again. Other than that I would highly recommend this hotel and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Prague in the near future.…
This is an absolutely stunning hotel which is conveniently located and phenomenal service. This hotel hosted our group from Texas. The restaurant located downstairs is fabulous and Michelin rated. I recommend the Goulash but everything was delicious!
My husband and I just visited Prague. We stayed at Alchymist and enjoyed our stay immensely. Whereas it seemed like it might be a bit difficult to get our bags unloaded and then car parked, that did not happen. Front desk immediately ran out and got our bags then took car to parking. Registration was seamless and the hotel was incredible with providing us with restaurant recommendations and ways to get to various locations. The hotel is in a great location and easy walking to the Charles Street Bridge, palace, shopping. The property is lovely in all respects. Room was wonderful and clean. Spacious bathroom. My husband was delighted with the gym which was available to use. The breakfast at hotel is great. Something for everyone. Also the restaurant itself is very charming. When we departed the Alchymist staff could not have been of any greater assistance. Do not hesitate to stay at this wonderful property. It does not disappoint.…
